Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part XI)
I think we have to have a trade lined up to go after after Thursday's game in Orlando vs. OKC. Not sure if they'd sit someone that was getting moved, or wait till after the game, but I hope something is done between that OKC game and leaving for Toronto Sunday night.

I hope so, It'd be nice to see one last swing for the fences to try to keep Dwight.

The Orlando Magic have finally made a decision regarding Dwight Howard.
It is either to trade or not trade him, but at least they've finally drawn a line in the sand.
That tweet from Brian was from Feb 3. It's old news, but new news to me.

Hey guys, I've been out for a while. What's this about Monta? Anything new or just wishful thinking that appears logical again? I still have no clue why Dwight is so adamant about leaving. If he just hangs on he will have his pick of the litter so to speak as to who we can pair with him. If we end up having a bad season, we get a better draft pick even.
How many stars in modern time have gone to a "bigger market" and actually become more "marketed"?

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part XI)
Monta went for 48 last night and his name surfaced as a result of the game I think. There are reports coming out of Golden State that Otis has his eye on a few GSW players and apparently for the last year has been trying to land Ellis. Problem is, articles saying Warriors want Dwight.

We would finally have our CP3/Deron type PG.
If we could get Kendall Marshall & Monta Ellis on our roster for next season, I think I'd die of hapiness

On the other hand, if Otis would trade Dwight for Monta straight up, I'd probably die too

Do all sides do this?
We get Monta, so our line-up is
Monta/Jameer/Duhon/Smith
J-Rich/Wafer/Monta
Hedo/Q/J-Rich/Clark/Harper
Davis/Harper/Clark
Dwight/Davis/Clark
Minnesota needs a 2 guard in JJ, have a back-up C prospect in Orton, and Liggins as a prospect for a defensive 2 guard.
Golden State gets another SF, which they have a need at. Dorrell Wright is somewhat inconsistent this year, and Derrick Williams is playing pretty well in his limited minutes. Darko gives them a C on a much better contract than Biedrins, who they can still use the amnesty on. They also get Anderson to play for cheap as a back-up 4 that won't give them much drop-off at the position when Lee goes to the bench.

Monta for Dwight? pffft.. They need pieces that fit that team imo. Ryan and JJ would be perfect to pair next to Curry and Lee but I'd imagine they'd want JRich which is fine imo. They could also use Jameer being that Curry is always twisting an ankle.

No way minny gives up on Williams for just JJ.

From Magic Basketball Online: http://www.magicbasketballonline.com/20 ... rformance/
15 pounds of muscle in 2 months? That's pretty solid growth for anyone, but considering his size he must not have lifted much in college.
Rookie DeAndre Liggins may not have played tonight (or this season), but that doesn’t mean that Stan Van Gundy isn’t pleased from what he has seen from him. As of 7pm yesterday, Liggins contract became guaranteed for the remainder of the season. Stan pointed out that despite having been here only 2 months he has already gained 15 pounds of muscle. The key for Liggins will be to just gain experience. At the moment he is buried on the bench, but keeping him around all season, the Magic are clearly pleased with the off-court development they’ve seen.
