7'1 Kyrylo Fesenko
Since 6-10 Al Horford is out for three months with a torn left pectoral muscle, the Atlanta Hawks are looking to sign a center, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. But the team would like to sign him for a 10-day contract rather than on a per meant deal, the paper reports.
Three of the names that have been discussed, the paper reports, are Kyrylo Fesenko, Erick Dampier, and Dan Gadzuric.
Fesenko played 53 games for the Utah Jazz last season, averaging two points and two rebounds per game. Gadzuric spent parts of last season with the New Jersey Nets and Golden State Warriors, averaging 2.8 points, and 3.2 rebounds per game. Dampier appeared in 51 games for the Miami Heat last season, averaging 2.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

I think we should give him a try, plus he's huge

We dont use Season highlight mixes around here.
No game clips? How about a game highlight reel at least?
I seen the guy play once and he's dumb as rocks.

My choice would be Gadzuric. He's got size and has athleticism. Dampier is too old and Fazenko is way too raw and inexperienced.
GO HAWKS.

I'd give anyone a try at this point, it's a sad day when we have to watch Josh and Radmonovic play at center.

Gadzuric is also dumber than a box of rock and Dampier plays like a box of damp rock salt. Dampier is slow, old, and never provided strong inside presence after he left IND following a good contract year (Mm-Hm, never seen that before huh?)Ruhiel wrote:We dont use Season highlight mixes around here.

Gadz is also only 6'11 is very foul prone at times. Fesenko a solid pickup at this point. Nothing to lose. He's just 24 years, somewhat raw but has huge size and is NOT the stiffest for his size.Skyhawk1 wrote:My choice would be Gadzuric. He's got size and has athleticism. If he works, he'd be a good fit once Al returns. He a big clog in the middle that could eat up some offensive boards (especially from J-Smoove's clanks), he also takes up space inside which would allow Smoove and Al to feast on weak-side blocks and boards. Could really be a diamond in the rough with a little molding and consistent play time.

My choice is actually Jeff Foote from the D League. He is currently playing and maintaining good rebounding rates he also has a couple of back to the basket moves and finishes fine at current level on pick and rolls. Currently playing means a lot IMO.

MC tweeted Dampier is a option. I would rather do without than to pick up someone over the hill like that.

Bad choice as usual. He will not get another 10 day once Collins comes back. We need another big even when Collins comes back.

Yes, bad choice.
I really do not understand this kind of signings: 15 year veteran who is unemployed and will probably not play a damn minute. Is LD and the FC looking for leadership? We already have JJ, McGrady and Stackhouse.
Neither of them would make a difference, but Fessenko, as said, is 24, has a nice touch, but also is slow as hell and really soft.

I'm pretty sure LD will use Damp against Magic. As someone mentioned earlier, he will be gone as soon as Twin gets back.

I like the Dampier signing. He has the requisite size and strength, and in general is not a bad center. Not great by any means, but definitely serviceable. Low risk/moderate upside move.

Re: 7'1 Kyrylo Fesenko
I actually might be the only one thinking that he is a good signing because of his experience (rbd, block ability just with his size) but also because the other options, younger are either gone or not worth it.
I wanted us to sign Salomon Jones or even Armstrong earlier but...too late.
