They both suck. I rather have Hose freakin Calderone in the lineup.

A lot of guys got screwed. But Monta Ellis needs to start playing defense man.
But I agree, Josh Smith should have gotten it

This is ridiculous, J-Smoove is the best player on the Hawks team, can´t describe my hate on this decision!!!
What do you guys think about it??
Nash deserves it, he got screwed last season
it's all about what position you played
that's why many suggested to get rid of that just simply vote in 7 best players

Josh Smith deserve to be in on that weak azz East roster. That's a crime.
Monta Ellis was TEARING IT UP early but had 2 major knee collisions in January and struggled mightily during the following 10-game stretch or so. But props to him for continuing playing in games even when he's not healthy. He's a workhorse and a soldier and deserves respect.
Nash is deserving over Ellis, and I'm a Warriors fan. Ellis is gonna continue to get snubbed as long as he plays in the West and the Warriors lack success.
BUT, get that Kyle Lowry bull crap out of here. A scrub having a decent year is now suddenly better than a perennial 25/5/5 star year in and year out. Even on a busted knee, Ellis is still doing 23 pts and 7 assits.

You're exaggerating. He's had to carry a Warriors team bothered by injuries early in the season. That said, given their record, I still wouldn't have given him an All-Star spot this year... same for Nash. Pau should've gotten his spot.

Can all-stars not play for bad teams?

I do agree that Josh Smith was snubbed, but he lost his spot to Joe Johnson, not Deng or Deron or Iggy.
With what Deng and Iggy have done for their teams, they deserved it.
ATL on the other hand doesn't deserve 2 all-stars, and coaches decided Joe was the better/more important guy, so Josh was snubbed because of Johnson.
Monta on the other hand I do agree was snubbed by Steve, but is it a snub the way Steve's played this year? The team records are similar, but Steve is 38, leading the league in assists, top 3 in FG% as a freaking PG, and having YET ANOTHER 50/40/90 season. There's no way Steve should be snubbed AGAIN this year like he was last.

Monta is putting up big numbers, but his TS% isn't very good... And despite his impressive scoring and 1.7 steals per game, Golden State is 9-14 and ranked 26th in defense.
Clearly doesn't understand the game. Blaming a team's poor defense on it shooting guard is laughable.
A Chicago Bulls fan that hates on Monta, despite the fact that Monta always destroys Derrick Rose everytime they play.

Golden state being 9-14 despite Curry missing 9 games is Monta's fault? Interesting.
Ditto for 26th rank in defense. But of course it's Nash who carries Suns to 20th best defensive team with his unforgettable defense.
except that every PG who has played in PHX this season is almost a lock for the best game of the season for them.

Nash making the team is fine.
The 2 biggest undeservings on the West are Dirk (by his own admission) and Westbrook (what kind of PG has an A/T ratio under 1.5/1? Pathetic).

LOL, Warriors have no center, horrible D at the 4 from Lee, horrible D from Curry, and average D from Ellis.
Blaming Ellis is just silly. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but if Kwame doesn't get injured, Warriors are probably sitting at .500 or above. Same with Curry missing all those games as well.

i think that Monta didn't make it because he is too short
Westbrook is taller and has better numbers than Monta, so no big deal in subing Westbrook for Kobe
Josh should have made it, he is a legit PF who can play post defense and can back up Bosh.

Nash's opponent PER is 11.3.

I'm pointing out (like others have) how Monta's "stats" don't translate into team success.
I'll explain a bit deeper. Despite his high rate of steals, the teams defense performs MUCH better when Monta is OFF the court while the offense is about the same. So unless you have the Bulls bench, which tends to run Watson, Brewer, Deng (as the only starter), Taj and Asik, whom provides near historic defense....I don't see what point you are trying to make other than pretending to look past his flaws in order to make in invalid point.
Jealousy is a sickness.......get well soon....

^ well duh, most bench units are much better defensively than the starting line-up. And what does STL% have to do with defense?
one of the most irrelevant stats of all time.
I guess you think that Kobe is a better defender than Tony Allen too? The opponent PER stats say so

I can come up with a bunch of stats to suggest that the Bulls are a better team when Rose is on the bench versus when he's on the floor. Wanna bet? I can even do the same for Dwight Howard (already did that in another thread). Find it hard to believe? Go look at Orlando's losses this year, Dwight Howard often has the worst plus/minus on the roster. He should get waived.
If Monta's defense is so bad, why can't Rose find any success playing him? Despite Rose playing PG and Ellis playing SG, they guard each other often. Stop lookin at stats and watch the game. Ellis rarely gets outplayed at the SG spot.
Tired of this "player x's stats dont translate to team success" BS. Team success requires contribution from the roster, not one or two players. Put Rose on the Warror's rosters the past few years and he'll be nothing special.

Frankly, I agree that Dirk should have been left out, if only to make a point to players not to slack off after a freaking championship run. Plus Millsap is pretty deserving anyways.
I can't come up with anyone that could replace Westbrook. Ellis but his team is so bad OKC deserves 2 All-Stars.
