Cain/Mir and Forrest/Tito confirmed by L. Fertitta

Stoked for Mir/Cain. Frank has got his hands very full with a motivated Cain.

Tito/Forrest has got to be a Fox fight, a way to get some heads and hype on that card.

They probably just want Forrest in there with someone who won't knock him out at this point.

I'd rather see Forrest vs Luis Cane or vs Franklin or vs Matyushenko or vs Thiago Silva.

Franklin? Didn't the first fight suck enough for you? :)

As for Mir/Cain. I love the matchup stylistically, but hate it in terms of where the division stands. I think if Cain wins and Overeem wins, we see that matchup which I'd be PUMPED for. I think Cain is more likely to beat Overeem than JDS tbh (although I favor both).

If Mir wins, gotta give him a shot.

I think it would have made more sense to Cain/Werdum or something though.

Regardless, Forrest vs Luis Cane or vs Matyushenko or vs Thiago Silva, is better than Tito/Forrest 3.

Absolutely. A fight with Little Nog makes sense too, as they both hold recent wins over Tito.

I'd rather see those for sure. But I wasn't kidding when I said I don't believe the ufc wants to put him in there with an overly dangerous opponent (a la Thiago Silva). This guy is like Dana and the Fertitta's son lol, and he was recently destroyed by Shogun in Brazil on the same night his daughter was born, plus he has said he is on the verge of retirement.

I could see him having this fight, maybe one more, and being done.

Didn't know about the retirement thing. In that case, Tito/Forrest 3, in a dual-retirement showdown.

I could be wrong but I thought he said a few months back that he only has a fight or two left. Plus we are seeing all the usual signs. "I hate doing this stuff" "This isn't fun to me" etc.

Induct both into the UFC Hall of Fame after the event, too. A nice big reacharound as the fans get schtumped in the butt.

They are saying Faber/Cruz 3 and Ortiz/Griffin 3 for UFC 148.

Not paying for that.

I recently saw an interview with Tito and he referneced that very thing. Even mentioning Forrest as a direct opponent. I think that is exactly what this fight is. Both guys go out there, put on a trilogy fight, a war hopefully, and both hold there heads high and ride off into the sunset.

Wait Griffin/Ortiz as the co-main?

Pointing out the obvious:

Tito's 1-6-1 in his last 8...something like that? And still headlining. It's insane.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Tito will get 250k for this fight and it's the last one on his contract. At this point I think he's willing to go in there and take a beating for a quarter mil. He's been playing this to get every fight out of that contract. Win or lose (probable), Tito walks away.

I am excited for the Mir/Cain fight but I agree that there were better match ups to be made, namely Werdum. IMO Mir has been that guy who separates the top few HW fighters from the second tier... he gets beat by the top guys and whoops second tier guys. It would be a good way to tell where Werdum is in the pack and a win would definitively say that Mir belongs with the top guys.

I know Cain was champ and all, but I'd like to see him get one fight under his belt before he's suddenly the #1 contender again. What's Carwin doing? Maybe even have him fight a Schaub/Mittrione/Russow kind of guy.
