IMO Mir has been that guy who separates the top few HW fighters from the second tier... he gets beat by the top guys and whoops second tier guys. It would be a good way to tell where Werdum is in the pack and a win would definitively say that Mir belongs with the top guys.

The problem I see here is that if Werdum beats Mir in a convincing fashion (is there any other way with Mir? Lose brutally or win brutally, pretty much why I like watching him fight), then he would be on the short list of title contenders. Who the hell wants to see Overeem/Werdum again? And we all know how JDS/Werdum plays out. Video game uppercuts FTW!!

OH GOD. We don't need an Overeem/Werdum trilogy. That fight was so bizarre. Didn't Werdum outstrike Overeem? JDS/Werdum would be a compelling rematch with the strides that Werdum has made, but how the hell do you get past getting KO'd like that? As a fan I think I'd actually root for a Mir/Overeem fight.

Tito's 1-6-1 in his last 8...something like that? And still headlining. It's insane.

Well, he is the people's champ.

Mir/Cain is cool. Still don't think it makes sense, but at the end of the day, that's not really my problem, and it's a good fight.

Tito/Forrest 3 is awful. Somewhat acceptable for a Fox show (Mir/Cain, Diaz/Miller, Tito/Forrest I could get behind), but not as the co-main event on a PPV.

Most likely not a co-main for Forrest/Ortiz, at least it would seem that way.
(In terms of Aldo/Cruz)

That's a rating fight, both guys are good with the media.
Those TV execs. are all about the sale, they don't g'v a f'k about what it is, just, what it is.

If they do that, it makes sense, but that's like a the Aldo/Florian, Stann/Sonnen fight. 5/10.
Could be great, but after Diaz/Condit, I'm going to be really selective with my PPV budget.

Agreed, that lineup def won't open my wallet. Get a decent co-main and we can talk.
