I understand people may not like melo. Or his game. But the dude has tried to do the right things here. I really think he wants to win. And in his mind the only way that was going to happen with this mess under this coach was to do it himself.

Its not only a new ball game in NYC, its a new attitude.

Well said Kane. Melo is not stupid, he is not going to ruin the chemistry when he's back on the floor.

Thank you Kane.. it's exactly how I feel.

is this true?

Why wouldn't it be? His first couple of appearances in garbage time were comically bad. Nobody saw this coming. You'd have to be loon to have predicted it.

A 200+ pounder playing the PG postion, thats more than the elites like Rose and Paul and right up there with Jason Kidd. They will have a tough time pushing him a round

What can you say about Lin other than wow?

Can you call the defense on Kobe by Fields/Shump was great when a guy scores 34? I think you can.... it was!

What. a. game!

The feeling I had watching it is LINdescribable!

The Knicks actually played great defense all around... amazing.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

ESPN guys still trying to start crap about the Knicks. Who cares if they considered releasing him? They didn't and he's playing here. Just stop.

Marc Stein: Tuesdy, remember, was deadline to release players w/unguaranteed contracts before those deals became guaranteed. Lin was in serious jeopardy

Marc Stein: I'm told Knicks had begun lining up potential replacements for Lin, chief among them vet Mike James from their D-League affiliate in Erie

Marc Stein
But then Lin uncorked 53 points against Nets and Jazz to render Tuesday 6 PM guarantee deadline immaterial and change course of his career

Me too. And people seem to forget that Melo has played with a point guard before. It's not like he doesn't know how. If anything I think Melo is going to be more effective since he can focus on doing what he does which is putting the ball in the basket. Sure, I expect him to find the open guy and avoid killing the ball movement but this team is going nowhere legitimate without a healthy Stat and Melo. If we're going to do anything in the post season it's going to be Stat and Melo scoring points late in games, not Lin. As much as I'm amazed by what he's done, he will be scouted and he will be slowed down and we're going to need our star player who can't be stopped and that's Melo.

Maybe all this talk about Lin not having a jumper can die now. His form is not picture perfect but his jumper is perfectly fine as evidenced tonight.

It's clear to me, these people are eternal pessimists, and need something to harp on. That, and they have no clue who Melo is. And add to the fact: he has been shooting less, leads the team in assists, looks to pass, and he already played a game with LIN.

Jared Zwerling: Andrew Bynum on Lin: "In D'Antoni's offense, he is looking a lot like Nash, except a bit more aggressive going to the basket and scoring."

Jared Zwerling: Pau Gasol on Lin: "We didn't step up to the challenge as a team, overlooked him I guess. I just think we could have done a little better."

Jared Zwerling: Metta World Peace on Lin: "He's a good player, it's really that simple."

It's a sickness. Some people don't know how to handle success, and have to lash out with negativity somewhere. They can't talk up one guy without putting down another. I'm not sure why they hate themselves.

I'll be interested to see how much better Lin gets as a result of Amare and Melo being on the floor....

Lakers would never game plan around Lin / send double teams etc when you have Melo and Amare on the court with him.. No way they can afford that... Which will open up room for him.

I wonder how many more assists he'll be able to rack up... once he settles down a bit, Linsanity becomes a little more mellow and we see what Lin is going to avg... How many easy baskets / assists is he going to create with amare and melo out there instead of Steve Novak Jefferies and Walker?
