Is the Writing on the Wall for Silas?
Probably premature but players giving up is usually the first straw that leads to a coach getting canned. I hope not, I was hoping for Paul to coach for a season or two and pass the reigns to his son. But you know how much MJ cares about winning and swag and all that...

Hey, he can't chew out our best player Boris Diaw without some repercussions.

Don't think MJ is going to want to pay another coach and Silas to deal with an obviously rebuilding team that ought to be struggling...

The Bobcats have officially hit rock bottom.

Re: Is the Writing on the Wall for Silas?
I figured since every thread was seemingly turning into a "how bad is Paul Silas at coaching" thread I'd bump this to the top to give a more appropriate arena for it.
The only reason I wouldn't fire Paul right now is if the coach we want to rebuild this team with isn't available right now. No point wasting money on an interim coach for the rest of the season IMO.
OTOH, I'd love for somebody like Jeff Van Gundy to take over.

Struggling is one thing while getting blasted by 30-40-50 points is another, Silas is a bum, I hated hiring him off of the street to start with, he was out of coaching for 7 years for a good reason!

Jeff Van Gundy only coaches real NBA teams though.
No but on a more serious note there is no way on hell some of the bigger market teams would sleep on that guy (ie: LA Clippers, NJ Nets, Knicks)

Agreed. He's holding a caretaker position until we have a team that actually has talent on it so that a real coach can take over.
No good bringing in a coach we want for the long term right now. This team wouldn't benefit from it. IT's too lacking in talent.

Yeah Silas is like that good for nothing crack whore prostitute; he gets the job done, but leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. He obviously isnt our long term solution.

We're going to have to hire a serious coach before training camp in order to have any chance at attracting a free agent this summer.
Until then.. there is nobody that pilot the tank better than Silas

Dude if I am a free agent there is no way in hell I am coming to Charlotte here is why:
Reasons to Move to a Different Place
1. To move into a more beautiful area
2. To move into a more prosperous area
3. To Run away from something
4. To Explore new and interesting cultures
5. To Open up a good professional opportunity
Now here is my analysis of what Charlotte has going for it out of those
1. To move into a more beautiful area: Ive traveled the US and NC ranks 5th on my list of ugliest states to live in.
2. To move into a more prosperous area: first in flight, last in education. That pretty much sums up the grand prosperity found in NC
3. To Run away from something: Unless Sam Hurd changes his name and decides to play in the NBA, or if Kenyon Martin tries to escape communism, I dont think we will find our man here.
4. To Explore new and interesting cultures: North Carolina ranks fifth on my list of places with **** cultures, then again I am from around fort bragg. The other top prospects are
a1) Ohio: Seriously this place is like a **** twilight zone, no wonder Lebron wanted to leave.
a2) Kansas: To be fair I had a horrible experience here, as I saw the ugliest chick alive, she literally looked like Golem (smeagle) from lord of the rings with a wig on. I swear to god I have never wished drugs on anyone but I hope that she did some cocaine earlier in life because I dont think god makes people that ugly.
a3) Utah: Utah should be one of the most attractive places to live on planet earth, because of its beauty. However you know a place is frigen weird when outside of 1 city the place looks like Afghanistan....
a4) South Carolina: this place would rank higher on my list if it weren't for how bad all of the above places suck.
a5) North Carolina: At least it isn't South Carolina...
5. To Open up a good professional opportunity: I can literally tune into more UNC Chapel Hill Games then I can Bobcats games on average, hell I can tune into more Knicks games on average and they are in **** NY! We need to gain recognition before we start talking attracting a superstar, more people know who the Charlotte Hornets are then the Charlotte Bobcats, hell more Announcers know who the Charlotte Hornets are then the Charlotte Bobcats...
Change for a superstar to choose to play on the LolCats is: .0012%, an entire .0012% chance higher then a superstar playing for South Carolina! and 97% less a chance than Chapel Hill getting future HOF recruit within the next decade.

Im pretty sure I was raveing about how the Bobcats wouldnt have a shot at grabbing a star freeagent regardless of if we have a great coach or not.

Re: Is the Writing on the Wall for Silas?
This "Fire Paul Silas" movement is getting ridiculous, we're not in the position to bring in a coach that's actually worth something, instead it'll be another retread like Silas and Larry Brown. I don't see how people can blame Silas when he's forced to give Cory higgins(when we could have picked up a Lin or an Ish Smith) MAJOR minutes due to DJ being out. Can we at least decide to give Silas a real roster before people jump the gun and decide to fire him..I really don't think that's asking too much

"It starts with us being accountable. Paul said that today."
....
Silas maintained post-game that once he gets back point guard D.J. Augustin and Gerald Henderson over the next two weeks, this will be a different team.
lmao
