People are ragging on JR but he would be great on the Clippers.

I'd definitely be ok with bringing JR here. He can handle the ball and create off the dribble, get to the line, shoot the 3, is super athletic and pretty efficient as well. I'd much rather have him than Chandler.

So after escaping from his Chinese team I guess JR is just dying to sign with the 9-20 Toronto Raptors when nearly every contender in the league is after his services. And Bryan Colangelo is just dying to sign a volatile, bad attitude SG halfway through a tanking season.

Terrible idea with no logic to it.

Would be a great signing. And during halftime his sister can fight fans. Whoever takes her down wins a prize. Great promotion

Yes...lets blow up the entire rebuilding project for....JR Smith.

It makes too much sense NOT to do it.

Damn...now where is that green font thingy?

Realistic Idea's to improve Team

Post#268 » by LongLiveIverson » Mon Feb 13, 2012 12:32 am

We have been in the bottom of the Atlantic for too long its time to just blow up this team.
The Euro style isn't translating into wins, Calderon may be getting 600 assists a game but he can not defend a chair, and Bargnani is perhaps the worst rebounding big man the NBA has ever seen.

Trade Jose Calderon for Jameer Nelson and a first or to LA for Blake, and a first, preferably Orlando

Trade Andrea Bargnani for Chris Kamens expiring deal...I will probably be ripped for this one but trading for Kamen gives us 14 million dollars coming off the books and some salary cap flexibility.

Let Rasual Butler, Solomon Alabi, Gary Forbes, Jamal Maglore (he isn't dead), Anthony Carter walk.
Safe to say none of these players contributed anything worthwhile to the Raptors season.
Amnesty Linas Klienza, overrated and overpaid. Bench player at best, and at this point James Johnson is looking like the better option.

Resign Leandro Barbosa, he is a great offensive spark off the bench, and keeps the defense honest with an outside shot..which DeMar may never find
Chris Kamen - can still provide a decent option at Center and rebound/block shots at a great rate when given starter minutes.
Give Aaron Gray a small contract, 6 rebs in 16mpg is productive and could be a great backup if Jonas doesn't pan out right away.

In the draft Target Small forwards Harrison Barnes or Michael Gilchrist. With Barnes you are getting a potential star scorer, with Gilchrist you are getting a jack of all trades do it all Andre Iguodala type.

With the second first rounder Toronto should do everything in their power to ensure they select Myck Kabongo, a Canadian Native out of U-Texas. If that means trading up a spot or 2 by sacrificing our high 2nd rounder or Bayless then do it. Right now hes projected as a late first round pick but I have a feeling his stock could improve due to a lack of great pgs in this draft. Hes not having a superstar freshman season but its worth noting Rondo only averaged 8ppg and 3 assists his fr year. Kabongo is a lightning quick guard and could develop into a special playmaker.

C. Chris Kamen (Solid Veteran provides defense and rebounding)
F. Ed Davis (Now or never..time to prove himself as a solid double diget rebounder)
F. Michael Gilchrist (Versatile lockdown defender, High Motor all around player)
G. DeMar DeRozan (Slasher, Go to player)
G. Myck Kabongo (Floor General, Distributor)

C. Jonas Valanciunas (Stretch the floor, Athleticism)
F. Amir Johnson (Athletic Rebounder, High Motor)
F. James Johnson (Athleticism, Shot Blocker)
G. Leandro Barbosa (6th man, Scoring spark off bench)
G. Blake Or Nelson (Veteran Leader)

G. Jerryd Bayless (Slasher, combo guard)
C. Aaron Gray (Big Body, Depth)

Yea there are alot of question marks, Can DeRozan become a consistent option. He shows flashes of brilliance and then sometimes can't hit the side of a barn. Can Ed Davis become a viable starting option at the 4? With Gilchrist and Kabongo I feel like the bust probability is low. You know exactly what you are getting with each player.

You'll not only be ripped for this, you might even get suspended by the mods. That's one stupid move. And what do you propose to do with all of that cap space. I called Pat Riley and he said he isn't interested in trading LeBron for our cap space. But you'd actually re-sign Kamen, so WTF?

You've launched into two posts. Welcome. But perhaps waiting and watching would have done more good than posting like this and exposing yourself to ridicule.

It doesn't really make sense for the Raps and he is a bonehead, but I still love watching him play. When he is hitting shots and attacking the basket he is a lot of fun to watch. It would make the tank a lot more enjoyable.

hahahahahaha!

We've inquired about him before but the asking price was too high. We assumed Denver wanted Andrea but I don't remember hearing anything concrete. This was almost 3 or 4 years ago though. I'd like him on our team to be honest. Buddies with LK and Demar and very talented regardless of his "ball iq."

If nothing else, Bargnani is extremely valuable to us. But anyway, just look at that proposed starting line up. It's dreadfully flawed. Records would be set for offensively ineptitude. I mean, Kabongo and Gilchrist individually appear to be players whose hard work and team play manifests itself in others, but together and when combined with DeRozan/Davis/Kaman, it's just really bad.

Kabongo
DeRozan
Gilchrist
Davis
Kaman

There would be no spacing, no scoring, just nothing at all. We might need to sign Darrick Martin to a 10-day and get him to hit a 3, just so we could say we hit one.
