Would you guys be interested in Jose?

Why you might want him

Obviously he doesn't always play as well as he did today. But he's an extremely smart point guard, would be great finding Gasol, Bynum for alleyoops etc.

Will consistently knock down the open jump shot...which is very important, especially considering your team, and considering how he WILL get wide open shots on your team. He's a big upgrade over Blake for you guys. He's a pg you can trust, and if he gets hot, he can help swing a couple playoff games for you.

Why I want him gone

He's getting older, can't really penetrate past anyone on a consistent basis. I don't see him as the pg of the future. We're rebuilding, I'd like to get as much for him as possible.

JC would be a huge upgrade over any guard we have, but we need to get younger and athletic at the lead guard. Penetrating is needed considering we have bigs that can finish at the rim, and it'll open even a guy like Kobe up for a way easier jumper than what he usually shoots.

So yeah we would want him, just for the mere fact to sit Fisher's butt down. But we really don't have anything of value to offer. Those number 1's the Lakers have will be used for a bigger deal....if one gets done.

I like how he plays in the P and R, that's critical here.

Actually you could do a three-way deal:

- The Lakers absorb Kirk Hinrich
- The Lakers trade Hinrich for Calderon one-for-one with perhaps a couple of 2nds and maybe Atlanta sends a 2nd.

It's just financial savings for you though.

The change to Jose on offense would probably add ten points to the box score.

Nope, I'd rather go all in for Deron Williams.

Kobe needs that second ball handler to help him, Fisher or Artest doesn't cut it.

Calderon's stats with the lakers would be something like this 14ppg 7.5 assist

Not giving up Gasol or Bynum for a guy like Calderon.

It depends on whether the Lakers would be willing to give up Gasol, because then, I could see a 3-way deal with Houston, with Gasol going to HOU, Calderon, Scola + something else to the Lakers, and the Raptors end up with some young pieces and/or a draft pick.

PG- Westbrook vs. Calderon
SG- Sefolosha/Harden vs. Kobe
SF- Durant vs. Metta
PF- Ibaka vs. Gasol
C- Perkins vs. Bynum

I think they can be taken if Metta is starting to hit his shot again.

I love Calderon. Raps got Bayless/Barbosa/whoever else they got and hate Calderon's lack of defense, lack of caring half the time (was an issue last year wasn't it), and oldness.. they've been trying to trade him for years now.

For the Lakers though.. our PGs are already old, they already play 0 defense... Jose is 10000000x better on offense than anyone we got. He would be amazing here. Incredible passing, one of the underrated guys there (underrated by the masses, some/most of us know about his ability and a/to numbers), knows how to shoot the 3 (lots more open looks here), takes the ball out of Kobe's hands..

We'll take him
