Game Thread: Heat at Hawks

Post#1 » by Ruhiel » Sun Feb 12, 2012 6:21 pm

Before we get to the matchups: Earl Sweetwater Lloyd is to be honored at the game. Glad our Hawks could be part of it.

Now on to the win!

I think the key to beating Miami is making them congest their offense into disjointed iso heavy stretches and take contested mid range. Stop their flow.

I also will be watching if 6'8 sf Josh Smith can make it a positive mismatch over 7'0 PF/C Chris Bosh. We'll see if Josh Smith can face up or back down Bosh as easily as he did Turkoglu and Ryan Anderson and I think Bosh's length in the past has been able to contest his jumper and to stop his drive.

I would like to have Smith on Lebron and getting out in transition but I don't think Marvin is tough enough to defend and box out and rebound with Bosh.

Gonna be a tough game on national TV, but then again the Hawks are a team who play like a team against tough teams that's the reason we beat both Miami and Chicago this year, it may look tough on paper but the Hawks are the most unpredictable team in the NBA.

Worst case scenario, Bosh keeps Josh off the block all game contesting his jumpers. Or we get into Iso Josh vs Bosh or Iso Joe vs Lebron.

Man if Marvin were just a bit taller he'd be a load inside. And then if he could still play outside he'd be the right monster PF for this team.

Not looking good so far. We need to come out strong during the start of the second or this game could very well get out reach fast.

Normal bad Hawks. Josh not doing what he needs to do but trying to do everything. Joe doing nothing. Teague missing layups. Marvin being played by 2nd graders. Zaza irrelevant. Lead gets worse when Kirk and bench comes in but they always come in same time no matter how things are going. Not getting to the line. Refs calling everything for Heat. Half empty gym. Nothing too concerning

Just checked in to see who was here. No other reason to post, since I'd just cry about the officials. We're really getting the short end: they pound on us - it's good defense; they through out their hands to hit us - foul on us.

One prediction: we'll triple our FTs before the end. It won't stay 26 for them to 5 for us. It'll look better on the box score when the game's over.

smallball makes cowards of us all. Bosh is getting layups and keeping Smith outside the paint. Wade + LBJ tip ins galore and Marvin is supposed to be some sort of power player but was a nonfactor with Mike Miller on him.
Only as strong as your weakest links.

Why are you here?
You're a fan and upset?
You're not a fan and just a jerk?

What made you decide to register for this forum and come over here to dump on a group of fans who just had to suffer through this game?

I was wrong - the refs even let the MIA bench get the superstar calls.

Final FT count: MIA 31- ATL 7.

I don't like to curse, but if anyone read Josh Smith's lips on his 5th foul call, that's my opinion, as well.

Whatever, the announcers say those punk arse owners went in the locker room for some reason. They need to go find some new owners and a real Center, and a trade partner for all the dead weight.

Just got home. Do we ever play competitive in TNT or ESPN in Atlanta? I'm sure there must be some example of it, but for the most part I remember bad blowouts. I'm seriously considering skipping any time we're on National TV.

BTW, if you ever wondered who I am at the games. I was the guy chanting defense with a minute left trying to drown out the Let's Go Heat chant coming down from above.
