They have a better roster than us so no..
If they get their **** together mentally this team should be decent...
nah, the rosters are even, imo. I think its just a combo of them hungry for a win after a losing streak and playing like its game 7 of the Finals, and us playing satisified with winning 4 straight.
They played Wall wrong too. He's a terribly low FG% shooter, and a great passer, so why play him for all his drives, and leave open passing lanes? He's just a fast dribbler and good passer. Ignore his speedy drives and just play him for the pass and they probably win this game.

Re: Wizards @ Pistons - On Now
After all the fuss about winning games ruining our lottery chances, we still have the 4th worst record in the league, despite a 4 game win streak.
I'm still glad we won those games, because you need to get some kind of glimpse of success from your young players, to see if they are are capable of winning at all, or are just a bad mix.
From that streak, I think we saw that Monroe, Knight, Jerebko CAN play great together. Thats positive progress and we'll still end up with a top 5 pick likely to add to them.

Tonight was just a quick reminder to how awful this team really is and how far away they are from competing; ie, light years away.

Yep.
Also a reminder that the recent winning streak was a product of circumstance. Make no mistake about it, we're still among the league's worst.

Our guard play is terrible. I don't see us being competitive until Gordon and or stuckey expire.
Knight
Defensive 2, that can hit the 3
Scoring Sf
Defensive anchor
Greg Monroe

Why are we just penciling Knight in as the starting point guard? He was actually the WORST guard of all tonight, shooting 1 for 9 and allowing Wall to drive right by him which broke our entire defense down and allowed McGee to go off.

Because he's 20 years old and is a rookie? Knight already has a better jumpshot and floater than Stuckey, btw.
Stuckey and BG have had plenty of opportunities to prove themselves, but they haven't. Can't say the same about Knight.

Re: Wizards @ Pistons - On Now
If we cant get Davis/Drummond, would you guys trade the pick for McGee, if possible?
He looks to be the next best perfect fit for Monroe, if we miss on Davis/Drummond. We need an athletic shot-blocking defensive anchor. There's guys in the draft that look great, but have yet to prove anything in the NBA. McGee IS the league-leader in blocks right now at only 24.
I'd probably do it. I like Thomas Robinson and Sullinger, but neither really fit the mold of what best compliments Monroe. And by next year Monroe should be a bonafide veteran/all-star at the rate he's improving. If we put a rookie big man next to him, we will struggle again next year just the same, waiting for him to develop.
If we put McGee next to him, who's already established as one of the best shot-blockers in the league, we can start winning right away next year. Then maybe still make a trade for a mid-late 1st round pick to add another young piece.
McGee gets a bad rep for playing dumb, but I tend to blame Flip Saunders, who has no clue how to use a defensive big man correctly, and is known for having undisciplined teams. Pistons are one of the few teams that do know how to develop defensive bigs. And Monroe would be a good influence on him in terms of playing smarter and working hard.

Wall was driving by everyone, and knights a 20 yr old rookie pg that has shown improvement throughout the season. He's penciled in and only haters don't see his potential

I haven't seen that much improvement. Still a streaky shooter and a guy who rarely makes plays for others.

I've been saying for a while that McGee would be a nice trade target...I wouldn't mind trading our 2012 1st rounder for him at the trade deadline...
