Wall, really turned it around after a mediocre start. Good start to the road trip.

It actually harder then it may seem.

Wall played really well, but so did McGee.

And the unsung hero is Mr 15,000 pts Lewis. They did start to turn it around once he got in the game.

Plus 22 in 12 minutes :o 10 pts

I'm going with McGee. Wall forced some drives and had somre really bad turnovers even though he did a good job creating.

Nick shot well but McGee's 22/11 was better to me.

14 of those points came directly of John Wall assists, don't really see how you can give him POTG considering how badly he was abused by Monroe.

I gave it to Javale - even though Monroe went around him time after time after time. Javale defended everyone else and changed a ton of shots. He basically shut down drives from all of their perimeter players. And he used his length very effectively on offense.

Vesely also deserves recognition. He ran the court, finished, defended, and did a great job on the boards. His floor burn was an inspiration.

Agreed. I'm not hating on McGee. He certainly deserves some credit for catching and finishing some shots in traffic, but Wall did most of the hard work in making those plays. Wall's 15 assists underrate his impact on the game. At least 8 of those assist were for dunks. Wall made it look like an All Star game out there.

Mcgee was the leading rebounder in the game. Nobody else had more than 8 rebounds.

WAll just had too many forced shots and 7 turnovers. He got off to a horrible start.

Wall took 10 shots, and out of those you can perhaps qualify 3 as poor shots. As far as the turns are concerned, 3 were mishandled by teammates and 2 game of brilliant passes that were deflected but would have resulted in baskets otherwise.

Not meaning to bash McGee in the least, but he didn't do anything defensively or rebounding wise was that made a difference in the game. He didn't get us any rebounds in traffic and only came away with one offensive board.

Also worth noting are the 4 turnovers and 0 assists.

Going with Wall, Ves, McGee here.

LOVED Jan's all-around game. When teams don't punish his lack of muscle, he does wonderful things.

Also loved Wall's passing. He forced the issue a few times, but he was picking Detroit apart otherwise and stepped up his game in the second half. Great win! (Until we pick seventh in the draft and get Jones... smh)

I can certainly understand taking Wall, but saying McGee didn't affect anything defensively or rebounding wise is just absurd. For good sometimes and bad sometimes (more good than bad), he was THE focal point of the Wiz defense on most of Detroit's possessions. Nobody else on the Wiz was even in the same neighborhood. There were probably more than a dozen shots not taken by Monroe that he altered.

I would definitely say Wall. I really liked the way he played today, gave his teammates great looks.

Will be the first to vote for Jan. I thought he was absolutely fantastic all over the court tonight. He set the tone early with Wall and the PNR and carried it through the entire night. Wall was great as well and his anticipation was better than I've seen it this year, but Vesely looked like a legitimate NBA player today and for that he gets my POTG.

Javale was the MVP of this game,” Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said. “He had eight dunks, and he had a huge defensive impact on the game in the paint. He might have only gotten two, but he’s the best shotblocker in the game, and you always know he’s there. He changes a lot of shots.”
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
