Isn't Nique some type of Vice President or something. If so, he can kick rocks too. All of them. I also agree they can just blow this team up before leaving towns themselves.

Josh Smith, Marvin Willams, package them together

Amnesty Joe

then tank for a lotto pick and just start over.

How much of this can anyone take?

Seems like the someone from the ESPN crew thinks one of the owners went into the locker room.

I heard one of the owners went into the locker room?

For what? I'll say it again Marvin Williams does more to hurt Josh Smith and Joe's game than help it.

Yesterday was absolutely painful.

Complete Non-factor. Instead of dictating matchups He helps teams switch and rest a player by guarding him.

This thread is long overdue, we've needed one of these for a long time

So, can anyone confirm that one of the owners went in locker room? Any stories on it?

just heard some disenchanted players walked out.

I cant blame Josh or Joe who said they needed a shooter with size.
Would lmao if Marvin walked out though. no idea why he would he walk out.

I agree...then we can have a team full of players that never have a off night ever in the history of ever. We would be just like....um....help me out here...what's that team that never loses and all their players never had bad games again? We can be just like them.

Marvin Williams has been turned into a spot up 3 point shooter and is doing a great job of it this year. You keep arguing that this team needs a spot up 3 point shooter then pointlessly slam Marvin. You do realize that makes no sense...right? You realize that he is statistically either the best or second best(if you count Mike Miller as a forward) 3 point shooting forward in the league...right?

Its pretty clear I said we need a player with both inside play + outside shooting to force matchups.

Mike Miller was guarding him yesterday resting, Jrue Holiday, Jodie Meeks etc have done it before.
We need a stretch PF/C to shoot outside and keep Smith inside against SFs but if a switch like that happens. Marvin needs to be able to score inside, box out so we can get offensive glass and dictate matchups. And he has shown he is not that type of size player.

I never argued we need a strictly spot up shooter. Thats garbage. We need a shooter yes but that shooter has to be a "size" upgrade and do all the intangible things required with size.

We're paying $30 million for Joe and Josh - that's who we need to look to for answers. Together, they TOTAL 33.8 pts/game on 42.9%(Joe) and 46.3%(Josh) from the floor. Joe's 3 ave is a good 36.9% while Josh's is 29.2%. That's not nearly good enough for a small, poor rebounding team that plays "sometimes" defense.

Come on, for that kind of money, don't we - at least - have the right to expect them to CARE? To TRY HARD? Joe, especially, seems to be mailing it in. I think I only saw 2 times where he tried hard on back-to-back possessions.

On the other hand, Josh busts his rear one game, only to dog it the next. Maybe his conditioning is lacking. Maybe we're asking him to do too much with Horford out. After all, he's our only remaining good big man.

Joe and Josh. It's their team ... they're the captains ... they're drawing the big bucks ... they're taking the bulk of the shots.

I am not a fan of many reporters and all the AJC guys fall into that category, but Mark Bradley posted a excellent piece that sums up the front office and the Hawks. I cut these clowns no slack and no I don't put as much blame on the undermanned team, and no I don't care how much money they make because they are earning it legally. If the front office had simply made better moves we would not be in this situation.

Below is the piece if you care to read it.

Smith was posting up a lot against Bosh and Haslem. Contested hook shots, brick, brick, brick.
He Busted Ryan Anderson and Tukoglu's rear. All comes down to matchups.

He never gets a shot in pick and roll. All Isos. And then Marvin Williams just killed the momentum that McGrady + Smith had. Smith was passing up shots until Marvin came in and the offense died. We went from down 10 to a blowout.

Why is Marvin here again, for shooting? You expect us to beat the Heat with Marvin Williams? And we dont have Horford who helps push the ball and let Josh run.
What did people think was going to happen? Its not that our guys dont care! Its a known loss.

What mismatch were they supposed to go to, to score easy points? They had none. This is where Horford would've helped because he is more athletic than Zaza and could push the pace in small ball.

Small ball is All about matchups.

Sund deserves credit for stocking our bench well enough for us to cream the lesser teams.
He deserves blame for - completely - ignoring our crying need for a Center.

We have TWO good big men - Josh and Horford. That's all. Since Horford was injured, Josh Smith has had to shoulder all the responsibilities inside. When he both can and is willing, we look good.

I know there are all kinds of excuses but, soon, someone will have to answer for our failure to acquire a good big man.

One strong, tall big man would go a long way towards curing all our team's ills.

Wonder what will happen with big Damp and what they are doing to try and improve this team a Center or a SF is clearly needed.

Talent alone we are dropping

Bulls
Heat

clearly better

Indiana
Philly
New York

all right there and can be considered just as good. A team with aspirations of ECFinals should not be sitting on there hands when realistically they know there is a chance they fall to the 6th seed. Too much wishing from this management

Bulls are clearly better, but I am not sure that they can beat us in a series, especially with Horford. Matchup wise, we win that. The Heat are a mismatch for us at their 3 strongest positions, so yeah...clearly better.

I'm just not sure what exactly you can trade from this team. Hirich hasn't shown he can be a contributor to a good team so only a team looking for a salary dump would take him. I don't think you can package him with marvin, because that would defeat the purpose of the salary dump. I still think that NO would want to get out that Ariza contract. He is having a god aweful year offensively but he is still solid defensively and would be a upgrade over Marvin.

I would say Andris Biedrens is a good target for the 5 position, but all we have to offer is SF/SG and Golden State is already stocked up at that position.

I do think Phoenix is probably ready to give up on Robin Lopez and I think he can be a solid player despite him fouling too much. I would probably package Zaza and Marvin for him and Childress and see if they bite.

This is another problem. Why does Sund need to be in a meeting between player and coach? Makes no sense.

Man, if we'd had the b@lls to pull off this trade this would have been a HUGE coup for us with the way he's playing now.

Like i always so, buy low...sell high.

Two years later we have dumped 2 out of 3 and our prospects do seem brighter. What a horrible collection of ineptitude and mediocrity.

Here's hoping Bud is here for at least a couple of decades. Ferry...well the jury's still out.
