Trade #99: Los Angeles Lakers - Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles Lakers Receive:
SG Randy Foye ($4,250,000)
PF Kenyon Martin ($2,500,000)

Los Angeles Clippers Receive:
SF Shawn Marin ($8,022,449)
2012 1st Round Pick (via Dallas with original protection)

Lakers accept.

While I said earlier I wouldn't attach picks on contracts I didn't view in a positive light, I stuck with that. I see Kenyon Martin as a significant contributor to my rotation of bigs to give Dwight Howard and Anderson Varejao a breather. They being expiring contracts only helped this deal. We love what Shawn Marion brings to the table, but at this point he's redundant with Rudy Gay already in the fold.

Clippers accept. Matrix has his ring Clippers do this to get rings for rest of team.

Sam, might be a good idea to know who needs to update their rosters publicly.

I'm going to waive Julyan Stone. He's played 9 games and had 16 points. I'm assuming he's UNG, since he was undrafted then signed by DEN for the 2nd round min. I was just going to update my roster and was wondering why I have this guy. So yeah, he's a FA now.

OK guys, at midnight EST (in 2 hours) Trading is reopened

Your roster must be fully updated up to trade #99 for future deals to be approved.

Also we are working on a CASH check so also make sure that is listed correctly as well

#100 Minnesota and Chicago:
re-opening the trading with a blockbuster.

Minnesota sends: nothing

Chicago sends:
Tyler Honeycutt($775,000)

works since Honeycutt is a min salary.

Minnesota accepts. Honeycutt might have some potential and we owed Chicago a favor.

Chicago accepts. We like having 14 players and having some room to move. Thanks Minny for the return favor. Nice deal moss.

Houston accepts. We felt that LMAM was worth his contract, and his ability to split time between sf and pf helps cement the defensive juggernaut we are slowly assembling. Isaiah Thomas's involvement made sense, as we were blowing cap space, and we see him hanging around next season where as Flynn wouldn't be.

As an added bonus, we got to mess with the league's money count. Houston is still pissed about the Chris Paul trade.

PHI and HOU have a trade to announce.

PHI outgoing:
Jamal Crawford $5,000,000
Daequan Cook $3,341,558
total: $8,341,558

HOU outgoing:
Hasheem Thabeet $5,127,720
Jordan Hill $2,855,760
total: $7,983,480

We clear enough cap to offer two max contracts in the offseason. Only Durant will be on the books and we will have a little more than 37 million in caproom. Good dealing,

Houston worries Crawford might opt out, and isn't sure that Cook is worth 3 million next year. But our team just got much better for this year and we expect/hope Crawford to resign if he opts out so we're good with this, we accept.

2012 #1 Pick LA Lakers unprotected
2012 #1 Pick Houston Lotto Protected

Houston accepts. We're bunglers but love this trade. The NJ pick is boom or bust, but makes us salivate. Drago would have been hard to keep on as a backup, and the cap hit to dropping Korver and Livingston next year is manageable.

Constantly changing money totals is now a necessity of a Houston deal, we won't consider an offer that doesn't send money in or out.

We plan on signing Tony Battie to our empty roster slot, ideally an unguaranteed 1 year min deal, as soon as we figure out how to.

{In our beloved Scola TPE, we have now fit Thompson and Livingston, with the remainder a near useless 2,090,509. Never-the-less, we have ambitions that it might not be done yet...

#105 Minnesota and Chicago have a trade:

Minnesota sends: Amir Johnson($5,500,000) + Jon Brockman($1,000,000) = $6,500,000 x 1.5 = $9,750,000

Chicago sends: Goran Dragic($2,108,000) + Ronny Turiaf($4,360,000) + Semih Erden($762,195) = $7,230,195

Don't like giving up Amir as we like his defense, but we needed to cut a little salary for next season. Dragic is a great fit behind Rubio as he can really score the ball, he can also play some SG with him as well. Erden is a cheap young center, and Turiaf will be a productive big for the season and then he expires. Nice fast deal mtamasi!

Chicago accepts. We love Amir Johnson. He's one of those players who plays harder on defense than offense, and can still score when his number is called. Between Luol Deng and Amir Johnson, we have very efficient production on both ends of the floor at the SF and PF spots, add in a SG who can really light it up when he's on, and recent MVP PG... Very nice deal moss. you know i was looking to get him.

TRADE #106

Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
C Semih Erden ($762,195)

Minnesota Timberwolves receive:
$2,000,000

Cavs accept. We only sent out Erden originally to acquire Hickson. We welcome Semih-Automatic back home to C-Town. Trade works as Erden is a minimm contract

Minnesota accepts. Didn't want to give Erden a contract next year really, so we get a little cash to help us buyout out a couple of guys.
