Ebanks to the D league

Post#1 » by ChampagnePapa » Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:57 pm

He just got sent down. I am sure the obvious purpose is for PT but I am crossing my fingers that it is so he can showcase some skills and then get shipped. Who knows.

If this was already posted and I missed it, obviously just delete/merge it.

Does this free a roster spot? 10 contract for Arenas or possibly incoming Smith and/or trade?

I know we waived Character so we have one spot right?

No roster spot cleared since he's still part of the team technically. Good move since he's not getting any burn here anyway, might as well get him some playing time in the D League

Kind of depressing since i'd rather he play than Metta but hopefully he puts up some big #'s down there.

Ebanks is worse than metta. I'd rather see metta be inconsistent than watch ebanks suck and be unconfident. This move all about getting his confidence up. Getting out on the court, and balling every few nights. Seeing the ball go in, making decisions, getting his conditioning up to snuff.

I don't understand M. Brown or this team.

I really do not. He just ruined his career.

then play him...he can't be any worse than Ron..Barnes is a mediocore at best..He's killing his development. When Kobe was sucking in his first couple of years in the nba should we had sent him to the D League if they had one back then?

even if confidence is the problem imo for Ebanks, I agree that it should be on Brown. playing the kid even if he makes mistakes shows trust and that will boost his ego big time.

Brown probably would rather have a consistent low production from Ron than an unknown from Dev.

I just really hated seeing him flounder on both ends when metta only flounders on half of the court.

Did you really compare Kobe to Ebanks?

Definitely a difference between a high school phenom and 2nd round draft pick from WVU. He came out of school 2 years too soon.

I think the coaches know more than we do, except for Kuester. If Ebanks would be that good in practice or whatever, I'm pretty sure they would play him. Not gonna lie, I also was excited about his preseason performance, but turned out he isn't ready. ANd please, don't compare him to Kobe lol

This will be good for him. There's no experience like "real game" experience! He's still real raw, but the tools are there. Maybe can help him grow as a player.

Mike Brown has mis handled Ebanks.. young players get better when they get a chance of gaining experience.. Ebanks was on ashort leash and that did nothing for his confidence
