He certainly would. The real question is, WHY have they been shopping him so much? I totally don't get it. A young all-star PG locked up for many years at $11mil a year? Why WOULDN'T you keep him to build around? So maybe they do bite for a couple of pieces (Ryan + JJ)? Rumor is they were going to go after Kevin Love pretty hard....Ryan is on his way to being a Kevin Love type guy.

Would it make sense to get monta before the all star break if Anderson is involved? I mean it would hurt to see Anderson go but if we got monta in exchange I don't think the fans would care

I'm sure you guys see it on Wiretap right now, but ill still post it.

Jr Smith Narrows List to Knicks and Clippers: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21 ... s_Clippers
The Knicks and Clippers are frontrunners to sign J.R. Smith, according to a source.

New York can offer Smith a pro-rated share of their $2.5 million mini-midlevel exception and a player option for a second year while the Clippers can offer him only the veteran's minimum for the rest of this season.

If Ryan is moved it won't be before the All Star game. Why trade him when there is a good chance he wins the 3 point contest and only increases his trade value? There is a chance his value goes up, there's less of chance his value goes down, so you wait till after the break to move him.

Must mean we aren't interested, since we can offer him the most money. Or not. Maybe he doesn't want our drama.

I never thought that the Magic would consider going over the Luxury tax for a Backup at a loaded position unless they had another deal in the works. And, I don't think they are anywhere close to making a deal.

after march 1st we would be able to offer a package of jrich+anderson for monta. The warriors could then look to move d. lee for a center. Bad thing is how do we win games starting davis at pf and could jameer ellis and turk play together?

You add jameer and orton to the deal and some first round picks and try to grab lee as well
Monta/ish/Duhon
JJ/monta/Von
Turk/Q/Von
Lee/earl/bbd
Dwight/bbd

Serious contender this year...get a better bench next year and that's a serious team for the future and Dwight stays

GSW are not trading Lee. They have no bigs other then Lee. Listen, when you are forced to play Biedrens then you obviously do not have another big

That's why their getting Anderson...saves them a load of money and helps them rebuild with a young star and give curry a more traditional SG...if only golden state would realize their not making a playoff run with monta...

I think the key to getting Monta is getting GSW a legit C. That is what they covet the most right now. I don't see why they wouldn't do this in a heartbeat (switch JRich for JJ).

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=86je652

Lakers get a starting SF in JRich, and a starting PG in Jameer. They've shown they are willing to shop Pau, so it certainly isn't out of the question, especially if they could get back two starting pieces at their weakest positions (PG and SF). Throw in Wright and they now have multiple outside shooters, which they sorely lack at the moment (not sure why Kapono doesn't play more). They can give Kobe maybe some more rest then with a SG/SF rotation of Kobe, JRich, Wright, Metta. GSW gets an amazing frontline in Pau + Ryan to pair with Curry. They'll be extremely happy there. We get our PG-star in Monta to pair with Dwight, and Lee is a very solid PF. I think all teams there improve.

GSW:
Curry
Thompson
Rush
Ryan
Pau

LAL:
Jameer/Fisher
Kobe/Jrich/Kapono
JRich/Wright/Metta
Mcroberts/Murphy
Bynum/Murphy

ORL:
Monta/Ish
JJ/Wafer
Hedo/Q/Earl
Lee/Davis/Earl
Dwight/Davis

LAL would be a bit loaded at the 2/3 spots and weak at the 4 I guess, maybe GSW could throw in one of their bigs now that they have Ryan and Pau? Or hell, maybe we could ship them Baby? He wouldn't fit in that badly there.

You can't build around a point guard as offensively challenged as Rondo and Danny Ainge knows this. It's weird saying this after he scored his career high against Detroit, but Rondo has a history of not wanting to shoot and his FT% is awful so you can't inbound to him late in the game. The Celtics have been trying to move him because KG and Ray are expiring this year and going into next season with just Pierce and Rondo with Jermaine Oneal's bad contract doesn't seem smart. They are hoping that they can use one of the two HUGE expiring deals they have (Garnett and Allen) with a Rondo sweetener to get some building blocks.

As for the people who think they would never trade with us, I'm sorry but they don't see Orlando as rivals. It may be our inferiority complex but they could really care less about us. The Celtic faithful are actually more worried about the Knicks and Sixers of the world as rivals.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get David Lee. I get to see him play often out here and he would be an amazing fit next to Dwight. Probably the best passing big in the NBA. I just do not see GSW trading him. The reason they would be willing to trade Monta is because they have guys like Curry and Thompson. Even if they get a good big guy back for David Lee they still would need more front court help. Right now they play Lee at Center most of the time, thats how bad it is over there. Biedrens barely sees the court at this point. I think he is under 18 mpg now and Udoh is the only other guy who that is worthy of minutes that is over 6'8". Unless the Warriors get 2 or more bigs that are capable of playing they are not moving Lee

Works out great for Orlando, Warriors might bite on that. I personally believe LA can get more for Gasol

The Orlando Magic, however, will not be among Smith's suitors. The Orlando Sentinel reports that though Smith listed the Magic as a potential destination in a coy tweet, Orlando GM Otis Smith said that the team, despite its perimeter scoring trouble, is not interested in the guard.

There goes that
