With a better team Nash is still a 40-40-80 threat to me. Remember how much he stands out among the stars when he plays on Team Canada, always dominates internationally among the best in the game.

If they want a defenseman who is good on defense they would want Josi over Ellis. If they want an offensive defenseman then they would want Ellis.

At this point, I think the Rangers are probably the front runners. They have the cap, and the assets to get a deal done. If the Rangers get Nash, that's one dangerous team.

If I was a betting man my money would be on the Rangers getting Nash too. I think its going to be between them and Boston.

I saw some rumors about Vancouver and Nash, probably centered around a package of Schneider and Hodgson. A Sedins-Nash first line would be pretty nasty

I think that package would get it done. But the Canucks would have to find a way to dump some extra salary to make it work under the cap.

Rangers have salary concerns beyond this year too, but dealing Dubinsky in the package would help. The Kings are a front-runner for me with their ability to deal Bernier, and they still have a decent amount of youth.

I also think that if the Kings don't land Nash, they land Carter and use him as a scoring winger - a position he really is, not a center.

^ I think the Kings should definitely be looking to make a move. Reuniting Carter and Richards seems like a decent idea and gives them some more scoring punch. One would think they would be willing to unload Bernier to make a big move, seeing as they have clearly decided on Quick and it's not like Jonathon's value is getting any higher getting like one start every couple weeks. I can't see his value getting any higher unless Quick gets hurt or starts to suck randomly, so now's the time to capitalize on the "young and full of potential" concept

It seems like every year we keep expecting the Kings to make that one move to put them over the top and it never comes.

Hal Gill and a 5th rounder to the Predators for a 2nd rounder, Blake Geoffrion and Robert Slaney.

Thats a pretty damn good deal for the Habs.

Gill's a good pickup, but not sure why for that team. Unless they plan on packaging other defensemen for a forward now, this is literally the position of least need for the Predators aside from goalie.

Poile's a good GM and everything but I just cannot understand why he refuses to add a decent forward that can score some goals. They don't need more defenseman they need a goal scorer and without a legit goal scorer they're not going anywhere.

You guys obviously haven't seen much of the Preds defense this year.

Slaney has 53 points in 113 career ECHL games and 8 points (no goals) in 52 career AHL games.

Geoffrion at best is a 3rd liner.

So apparently the Blue Jackets asked Philly for Van Riemsdyk, Bobrovsky, and Schenn or Couturier plus other pieces for Nash.

Kubina to the Flyers for a 2nd and a 4th. Flyers are stacked on the backend now.

TO DETROIT: Kyle Quincey D
TO TAMPA BAY: Sebastien Piche D, Detroit’s 1st Round Pick in 2012
TO COLORADO: Steve Downie F

Not sure I love giving up a first rounder for Quincey but whatev. He's expiring so if he solidifies the third pairing then I'll live. I'm kinda surprised Downie got moved

Not a big fan of giving up a first for a guy like Quincey but the price for d-men has been set pretty high so far.

I really like what Tampa's doing so far. They've gotten a bunch of high picks for three players they didn't plan on keeping.
