gomes should consider switching over to TE. i don't think he has much future in basketball in general.

What about using the Clippers' trade exception for a player like Sam Young? Getting no time in Memphis, but people have seen his ability he can display on the court in previous seasons. He's also an expiring contract at less than a mil this year. No risk involved, and a clear upgrade over Ryan Gomes.

There's one guy I'd target for us and that's Raja Bell from the Jazz.

They've got CJ Miles and their rookie Alec Burks at that position and are slowly falling out of the playoff race afther their solid start to the season.

He's earning a little over $3.4 mil this season and clost to $3.5 mil next year, while still playing some solid defense and shooting over 48% from the field and over 41% from three point range.

I'd offer them our TPE + a couple of 2nd rounders(our own this year and one of those Hornets 2nd rounders) at the trading deadline and see if they bite.

Thoughts?

you can't package a TPE with anything else. and utah wouldn't just dump that salary and watch us get even better than we are now.

otherwise i would take anything we can for that TPE

You can't package a TPE with other salaries.
Though, you certainly can package a TPE, just like a players salary, with draft picks.

It's also something the Jazz certainly would only consider if they keep falling out of the playoff picture, like they currently do.

No, you can't combine those TPE's.
If you want to use both it would have to be two seperate trades.

Birdman provides is a nice luxury, but Denver would also love to be rid of the $9.5 million he's owed through 2014.

hmmm. for that kind of salary it would take Mo+cookie for the birdman. i don't think Mo is worth losing for bloated multiyear deal of anderson. but he would be an ideal backup big to have behind griffin and DJ, and to come off bench with kmart/evans. only if the birdman came at cherokee parks' salary
