I saw an interview with him last night, post fight I believe, where he actually talked about getting up too 300lbs and then slimming down throughout camp and cutting near the end... In the future this guy could be a lot bigger than where accustomed to seeing.

It's crazy that even at the max weight, he'd probably still have the speed advantage over at least 95% of the heavyweights. JDS might actually be the only exception.

Not sold on Struve yet.

I think a Nelson rematch would show us where Struve is right now.

Sanchez's walk-in was surreal.

Condit spoke briefly on the MMA Hour a while back about re-matching Jake, I'd like to see that fight.

I like Brookins, hope he can string some wins together.

Ellenberger had his chance at the post presser, but my understanding is that he was saying Condit should wait for gsp. WTF, call him out. Condit already said he'd like the rematch on Ariel's show iirc.

Same, so talented and easy to root for due to personality.

Here's another gem of a quote from my favorite man in sports:

"I like Dave Herman. The stuff that he pulled this week? I can't stand that stuff," White told Fuel TV. "Listen, if you want to get noticed ... get noticed for your fighting skills," White said. "Not for coming in like a gorilla or wearing pink scarfs. And coming in to "Macho Man?" As I was sitting there, I'm thinking 'did I seriously let him come into this song?'"

Who gives a crap if Herman comes out with a hairy body? That's how he looks naturally. And between that and the pink scarf, I got a kick out of it, as did many others. Otherwise I'm fast forwarding through most of the weigh-in. He made it entertaining. Isn't that the point? Without entertainment MMA is an amateur sport. One should be entertaining as possible while maintaining integrity/morality. There's nothing inherently unfair to opponents about carrying a hairy body or is it obscene to the public. He must have just been disappointed he couldn't see Herman's muscular, glistening body in all its glory. I'm serious that I think between this comment, his visceral disgust about Hallman's banana hammock, and constantly referring to people as fags; he's a closet homo. Me thinks he protests too much.

I don't think that means latent homo at all. Maybe he's self-conscious for the sport itself? Maybe he's taken those jabs about 'all I see is two guys rolling around on the ground together' to heart?

This and what seems like some serious misogyny (against women's MMA and Loretta Hunt and his ring girls)...it's strange.

The UFC has like a hundred fighters. He wants everyone to come in waxed and scowling? A well-groomed Herman could not look more average and uninteresting. He's really as normal-looking a dude as you can imagine.

What does he think of Tom Lawlor?

The fact that someone can be both a cage fighter and silly/self-deprecating is damn amazing. More of it.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Maybe he's self conscious about the sport's image, I just don't see how a hairy guy tarnishes it, let alone is viewed as gay. 99% of fighters look the opposite of him which is why, as you alluded to, he stood out in this instance.

If Dana's self conscious about the sport's image he shouldn't, as its figurehead, regularly make sexist and homophobic comments.
