Trade #99: Los Angeles Lakers - Los Angeles Clippers
Los Angeles Lakers Receive:
SG Randy Foye ($4,250,000)
PF Kenyon Martin ($2,500,000)
Los Angeles Clippers Receive:
SF Shawn Marin ($8,022,449)
2012 1st Round Pick (via Dallas with original protection)
Lakers accept.
While I said earlier I wouldn't attach picks on contracts I didn't view in a positive light, I stuck with that. I see Kenyon Martin as a significant contributor to my rotation of bigs to give Dwight Howard and Anderson Varejao a breather. They being expiring contracts only helped this deal. We love what Shawn Marion brings to the table, but at this point he's redundant with Rudy Gay already in the fold.
Looks like Dallas pick was traded more than once

Dallas Sends: Lamar Odom (8.9 mil) + Kwame Brown (6.75 mil) + Dallas 2012 1st (if in top 20, if not then 2013 1st) + GSW 2013 1st
total= 15.65
Memphis Sends: Zach Randolph (15.2 mil) + Jerry Stackhouse (.854)
total= 16.05 mil
15.65 * 1.25=19.56 therefore deal works.
Dallas does it to consolidate some picks into a major asset in Randolph
Memphis accepts, we love Zbo but his deal is ridiculous, this deal clears alot of cap for FA as Kwame is an expiring and Odom is unguarenteed, we also get 2 1st round picks one of which is in 2012 for my "collection"
Looks like dallas pick traded more than once

TRADE #115
This is a two part trade:
Part I
Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
PF Jordan Williams
New Jersey Nets receive:
No Compensation
Part II
Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
Traded Player Exception (created from Trade #25 ($$4,666,10))
New Jersey Nets receive:
PG Jonny Flynn ($3,414,720)
Cavaliers accept. Flynn was not a long-term piece to our future plans and the TPE is a valuable future asset. Jordan Williams is also a nice young talent to cultivate.
NOTE:
Part II of this trade creates a TPE of $3,414,720 for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Looks like dallas pick traded more than once
Yea but the first trade involved the DAL 2012 top 20 protected pick, this trade involves the DAL 1st if it's inside the top 20 (1-20), so if DAL is way good this year and have a record which is 20-30 then LAC gets the pick in 2012, if not then Memphis gets it, and if LAC gets the pick in 2012 Memphis gets the DAL 1st in 2013 (unprotected)

Deal. Flynn's disappointing but a terrific athlete and great competitor. I was a huge fan of his before. Hopefully he can turn it around.

I probably overpay here, but I need to clear some cap space and Ryan Anderson is a BEAST while being only 23. He's a great shooter, rebounder, and defender, and has shown to be a great fit next to Dwight (hopefully... lol)
Turiaf's also a nice hustle guy and a stopgap center that we need.

Confirmed. Deng is an allstar SF that plays great defense and compliments Iggy and Amare. Amir is great, he'll bang against bigger players, rebound in traffic and score efficiently. Morrow is one of the best shooters in the league. I forgo my caproom for this move.

Probably took a step back here as far as value goes, but I like Bayless since he left Portland and Forbes is an underrated scorer.

The Deal finally gets done after midnight negotiations which turned into morning negotiations, the Grizzlies get Mike Conley back, a great young PG on a good deal, the MEM 1st gets back to me (top 15 protection doesn't really matter anymore) and I get the POR 1st (top 12 protected but Portland looks to be really good this year so it should be in 2012) for "the collection"
