Nice to see others posting Nicks ranking as a SG. He was just as high in the ranking last year.

This team is enough to make you pull your hear out. It has so many player that have skills that just haven't played with in their limits enough of the time to maximize those skills. And then they make it all that much more difficult to decide on keeping them or letting them go because of the mental weaknesses/personality type that lead to them not playing the right way.

If Nick would simply catch and shoot more like he did last night, he would be a lot more valuable. Best thing to do with Nick at this point might be to luck into signing him at good value so you can trade him later for value. Letting him walk could be the right move but it wouldnt maximize the teams investment in time and money.

But Wittman is making a difference. He simplified the offense and he is running more PnR. He was even running double screens up top. I appreciate everything Flip did for this team and dont feel like they held on to him to long. I think in the long run he instilled some good things into the players. He also dealt with a ton of turnover and lots of crap like the Gil gun thing. But they made the change when it made sense and now Whittman is fitting in nicely with his new voice, cleaner slat and changed offense. Also, Ves maturing and getting court time is setting a good tone for players like McGee. Same with Booker. When you have other players doing the right things, he sets the example for those who are not. And now McGee can breath better as well.

It all adds up eventually.

Anyway. I was ready to support the team dumping Nick, Crawford and McGee. Now all of that has gotten more complicated. Tough decisions ahead.

I think Nick is better off being the 3rd option on offense. On a good team he wouldn't being shooting as many long, contested 2s. He would be money on the Clipps.

The Clips game is why you don't pay N1 good money in free agency. Yesterday he looked like the best SG in the NBA, but today at halftime he's 0-6, 1rb, 0asts, 0stls, 0blcks 1pt. Weak. If he's not dripping wet he's worthless.

Rule of thumb for GMs -- don't make roster moves/signings for a player based on a really good game or a really bad game.

He's not nearly as good as he was yesterday and he's not nearly as bad as he's playing tonight.

So which Nick will show up tonight ?

Like Crawford has a bad game forcing things in front of his home crowd, I think Nick forced things last game after having a hot game the game before.

I am not sure what Wittman is trying to get Nick to focus on but I sure hope it is limiting his dribbling.

I think Nick can be a very effective player if he would just stick to what he does well and what works well for the offense as a whole.

This team two players who can dribble. They are Wall and Crawford. Three if you count Mack. I would put Nick behind Mack. As such, I don't want to see him pounding the rock. If it is one or two dribble to set up the shot, fine, but that should be it. Or if he is taking it straight to the hoop to drive, that is fine also.

Less is more with Nick. I sure hope that is what Randy is telling him. He just isn't a Wade type and he should stop trying to be.

So that tells us what ? I dont see where it tell anything really. So Nick can score and do it without rebounding. His problems are not that. It is his role on this team. He could start as a catch and shoot if we had a SF with handles. He can't if we dont have that because he tries to dribble to fill that role and he can't.

Add that kind of SF to the team and Nick would look real good as a starter. If you cant add that at SF, then you need a SG that can do it and Nick becomes a micowave off the bench.

This team is not designed to handle having Nick as a starting SG. That is the problem.

At this point I would trade him for just about anything and hopefully before the trade deadline. I really dont care about value. They should except anything anyone would give them. I was fine with them bringing him back for another look. Well we have seen it. Moving on.

I really want to see what this team can do the rest of the year without him here. With Nick gone, I think they can be more patient with what to do with McGee and Dray. If it is just the two of them left, I think they are easier to work with.

Dray while frustrating has been showing he is willing to listen this year and play more of a back up roll. I think Randy can get on the same page with Dray. So that would only leave McGee as the remaining bone head which gives me some hope that Randy could tune him in also.

Every day I tune in hoping to hear they moved Nick and only Nick. For now at least.

Dribbling Nick. Starts at the foul line and ends up at half court.

Only thing worse then that is dribble, fake, spin, fake, fake turnaround fading jump shot

And like magic. Nick to the bench and they are starting to player better. Nick is poison for this teams offense. Hopefully 5 minutes is all we will see tonight.

We will have to disagree on this one then. I think Nicks play is a cancer. And not that I expect you would remember, but I was someone who wanted to give Nick another chance. I was pulling for the kid but I reached my tipping point several weeks back.

I am fine with him being a streak shooter. Its the damn dribbling that kills me. I think I just posted the example that I see over and over again.

The Wiz went down early without Nick. They got jumped on. But then Nick comes in and makes it worse with his dribbling. It instantly lead to a turnover as he dribbled off himself. Then he got the ball at the FT and ended up at half court.. again. Then he did a double fake back twisting double fade away. That is the cancer.

Catch and shoot Nick... That I can live with. Even if he is missing sometimes. But this other crap. It drive me crazy enough that I was yelling at the TV tonight for Randy to sit his ass. I never yell at the TV. That lead to me doing the same about McGee after watching some of the "offensive" plays he attempted.

I can live with misses. What I cant stand is watching players try things they suck at, that lead to turnovers and ruin any team momentum that is getting started.

Once NIck started to catch and shoot. Magic. He played better.

The thing is - he played well only after the game was way out of reach. He has a history of doing that. That's a really bad sign, imo - to put up those kind of numbers even though for most of the game - when it mattered - he stunk. I could understand it for a rookie, but Nick's a veteran now. These are his true colors.

Nick young just isn't fast. First that the captain of the ship should have done was force Young to hit a certain time on the track in terms of sprinting before he let him back on the court.
then Nick would have to show an ability to drive with pressure and get to a point in a lane in set amount of time. If he couldn't, he would be allowed to play.

How does he go from a career high 6 assists in one game to the next game getting zero assists. He is half way through his 5th season and this was his first 6 assist game.

I'm just wondering. Maybe we live in a bubble because we are Wizards fans, but do we really have some of the stupidest players in the league.

Who is dumber than Nick that is not on the Wizards ?

Rank our three dumbest players in order and then see if you can find another player in the league that would rank higher. It is hard to rank the following three one over the other but I put them like this. It is such a close call.

But Beasley running his teammate's knee thinking it was his own -- that's amazing.
