Would Clips trade Bledsoe?

Post#1 » by SoCalJazzFan » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:39 pm

Clippers are a good wing player away from really making an impact this year. It looks like they are losing out on JR Smith and will be holding auditions for a SG.

Would the Clips consider trading Eric Bledsoe and a 2nd pick for Raja, or even CJ?

Raja has really turned his game around the past few weeks and aside from finding his shot, has always played pretty good defense. A defensive wing is what the Clips really need, as they already have inside and outside offensive threats, to make a push in the playoffs. They will have both CP3 and Mo next year, and probably intend on having CP3 for years to come.

Right now I would hate to see Raja go (he could be worth his contract in teaching up Burks as much as anything), but I would pull the trigger on this one.

To sweeten the deal, the Jazz could offer both Raja and CJ for Bledsoe and Gomes. Works according to the trade machine http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7j2m6w4

Probably a step back this year, for the hope of a few steps forward after that.

I think this is worth exploring.

I like the idea behind it but we'd still need to move Harris.

I can't say I'm completely sold on Bledsoe but giving up CJ/Raja for him isn't a huge loss if he doesn't pan out.

They have about 45 point guards (even with Billups down), so I could see them trading him, but I'm not sure this is a package they'd find attractive.

Bledsoe has only seem minutes in three games this year, I think getting someone who is young(ish) and will see minutes would be attractive for the Clippers. CJ for Bledsoe makes quite a bit of sense, although Eric won't be a permanent solution as a starter.

Definitely think this is worth a look. I imagine they'll be trying to target someone better than Bell or Miles but if they strike out maybe we could swoop in. Not incredibly high on Bledsoe but he's worth a look if we are not losing anyone of value to us.

trade makes sense for both teams especially since Raja playing so well and LAC missed out on JR Smith
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Miles for Bledsoe works for me, but I thought L.A. was reluctant to add Bledsoe in the Paul trade... would this be more enticing?

Well they were reluctant to add him because they felt they were already giving up enough and wanted to save him as a future asset for exactly this type of situation. I think they'll wait to see if Boston decides to break it up and go after Ray Allen though.

I know alot of people here hate CJ, but if I'm the Clippers, I think this would be an awesome deal. As mentioned, they are 1 wing player away from being a serious contender, and I think CJ would put them over the top. I think they would like him more than what the Knicks will like JR. He isn't nearly the chucker, or the negative locker room guy that JR is. Also I still think he hasn't tapped his potential. His confidence is down, but I still say watch out for him when he gets it back.

I think the deal makes sense for the Jazz too. Right now I would like to see cj getting josh howard's minutes, but it seems pretty obvious that the Jazz are done waiting for him to be consistent.

LOL at CJ being the missing piece to contention...

Shhhhhh.... if they'll give us something for him, let them think he's worth it.

I think its foolish to think they are far away from contention. Very good chance they'll come out of the West.

Negative. I get it. You think CJ isn't valuable. I happen to think he is. He doesn't need to be Micheal Jordan to put the Clips into contention...they are close already. That said - CJ can be much better than what he has been here.
