Nick is suck. I pulled for the kid most of the time over the years but he just makes it so hard for even the more positive of us. This is playing himself into a 4 to 4.5 M contract

Cut Mason yesterday. Please.

No.

Oh. So Mason. One a bad team. Is there a key role for an older SG who is a shooting specialist that shoots .283 ? Just wondering if I was missing something. Because if he is there for moral support, we could just get him season tickets behind the bench.

N1 sucked once again. I knew he would revert back to that 1-on-1, overdribbling crap after the Portland game. I knew it was too good to be true, and I tried to downplay his performance because I knew he couldn't keep it up. He's not in our long-term plans.

Crawford puts up empty stats. His stats look pretty good on the box score, but it's much deeper than that. His dribbling and shot-selection kills the offense, and it's really bad because he's not very quick, so he struggles to get to the rim.

JaVale had some nice moves offensively, but he also took some dumb shots. And he should've done a much better job on the boards. The Jazz killed us with their 2nd chance points.

Mack is a scrub. His game isn't dynamic at all, has no quickness, and doesn't play with confidence. I thought he would be better.

I think fatigue could be a big factor in this game. Wittman was overplaying the starters the last two games, and the players looked kind of worn out.

St21,

Also look at the stats for the shooters he was passing to. He had several nice interior passes that resulted in FTs for our guys as well; Utah likes to foul rather than give up lay ups.

Can't judge a game by the box score. Wall played a very solid game, got to the line in a controlled manner, and was consistently knocking down outside shots. he missed out on numerous assists on good reads where Seraphin and others couldn't finish relatively easy shots at the hoop.

The game was lost because of hero ball & a lack of toughness. There was a stretch in the 3rd where Mcgee, Singleton, and Crawford just continued to hoist up terrible shots. They iso'd and just chucked it up. No set ups, and no passes to open teammates. Once they got back into that habit it was back to our normal road script from the Flip days.

Did you actually watch that draft? He was the fifth or sixth PG taken. That's what most of us would call a snub. :P

I knew people would complain about Wall's "lack" of assists... Like I said in some other thread, y'all getting caught up in numbers too much; He played under control, shot the ball with great efficiency, but his teammates didn't finish his passes...

For real, it's like Wall can do no good around here...

i disagree that it was "hero ball" or nick young, or any other offensive reason that we lost this game. we put up 100 which is a GOOD game for us. what killed us was letting utah score 30+ pts in each of the 1st 3 quarters. we were suck defensively and even if wall took 0 shots and looked to dish every time it wasn't going to keep Al Jefferson from shooting 70% from the field. (mcgee had 1 defensive board. millsap had 6 offensive boards.)

Wall was not the problem.

The team actually started the game playing well. Then Nick started forcing his game and dribbling to no where on several possessions, chucking shots and the rhythm they had going feel apart. Al was tearing them apart so the lead went to 10 pts and Utah got it going. McGee couldn't stop him. Wittman started to rotate players around and it took a while to find a line up that worked which they eventually did offensively but they never had an answer to Al. They kept it at a 9 pt deficit the rest of the half until the very end then dropped to 12 pts.

Defense was a huge problem. Specially in the post.

Utah is clearly a deeper team. The Wizards just don't stand a chance against the team like that if can't find a team rhythm. And Nick is a team rhythm killer with how he plays to often.

Until they add a legit star at SG or SF who can dribble, and score off the dribble, this will be a problem. If that player can nail a catch n shoot all the better but that makes finding that player that much harder so they could address this with a second player who can catch and shoot or they would have to rely on teach Nick to do that.

Basically a Iggy and Kyle Korver would solve that problem. Or they need a Batum. There are lots of players or combinations of players that could fill this whole. This team doesn't currently have them. I think Nick could fill the catch and shoot roll if he is signed for 4 or 4.5M but he doesn't seem to be able to stay focused on doing that. And right now he is playing to get paid more then playing to win so get him out of the starting line up.

This team has plenty of holes so it is just a matter of which gets addressed first. I think they have some support pieces in Booker, Ves, McGee, maybe Singleton eventually as a D specialist though he could get traded, Ronny, etc but they really really need to get what I described above to help Wall define the offense. Right now Crawford is the closest thing they have to that player and that is a huge problem. They will struggle until they add that player(s). This combination of SGs and SF isnt helping Wall and to many wont even be here next year.

With the current roster, you really have to start Crawford with Wall and let Nick come off the bench as a spot up shooter. Starting Wall, Nick, Singleton, Booker and McGee isn't going to work because you only have one ball handler on the court. Basically Crawford and Nick are both chuckers but at least Crawford can handle the ball and he can pass better. Plus Nick is likely gone so why give him minutes. Crawford is signed for several years. He only start 2 games this year. Give this kid another change. I see something there that seems like a connection between him and Wall.
