At least it's almost D'Backs season!

But, I will take in as much of Nash in a Suns jersey as I can while I can.

Can't wait for Dbacks season, plus Coyotes looking good now making a playoff push.

From what I read, Amare was told that we were going after Turk before Amare chose to leave. We made our best offer to him, nothing we can do there. I didn't like how we used his TPE either. Not only did we get guys and use them the opposite reason for why we got them, but we gave out two second rounders (unprotected) in both Chilldress and Warrick. The NY one we got for Amare is top 55 protected, but we give up good picks for guys we don't use correctly. But what do you expect from an assistant coach posing as a head coach.

He went to NY because we would not guarantee his contract, he didn't choose to leave as much as we showed him the door. We could have signed him prior to him ever reaching FA status but chose not to.

He was uninsurable. Dirk took less money when his contract was up, so Dallas could get more guys around him, and look at that result. Duncan same thing. Nash was a two time MVP, getting much less than what Amare is getting. We offered him the best deal we could. NY can afford to pay him $40-60 million to sit and watch. We couldn't.

Amare could have stayed another year. He opted out. He had one more year on his contract. He left us, just like LeBron left Cleveland.

Not a fair comparison, Lebron burned Cavs fans, Amare left for a better offer. We could have offered Amare the same deal. We chose not to. Don't blame him or compare him to Dirk.

I think it would be much less of a risk to pay Amare, an all pro player who fit perfectly with Nash in our system than to pay a bunch of guys who we know aren't going to have an Amare type impact. If Amare was to sit out one of the five years he was signed for it would still have been a better deal than what we "replaced" him with.

Because most players aren't going to take less money in the best interest of the team, it's a business.

How can you label such as kool-aid drinking when the mere difference was insurance reasons? If he wanted to play in Phoenix, he would have stayed. Saying a 3 mil$ difference over 5-6 years, in context with a contract of his magnitude, as being a difference maker is a straw man argument. Even if both teams had offered the exact same contract, I doubt Amare stays...he's always been an egoistical player who wants the spotlight, he wanted to be the center of attention in the second biggest market in the NBA. I'm certainly not advocating the "replacement" of Amare with the likes of Childress, Warrick, and Turkeyglue but not signing Amare to an uninsured contract was the right move. even signing him to the deal we offered is dodgy.

if the Suns had kept Lou the next season, maybe swapped Barbosa for a better defensive guard (it actually turned out to be Gortat- probably better), signed Lee as Amare's replacement more or less, and banked on the continued improvement of Dragic and Lopez, I feel the Suns would have been almost if not as good as the previous year. We certainly would have been overall more balanced. Unfortunately, none of that happened...

You know what the worst thing about this loss is? Nothing changes. There are the same problems in every game and nothing changes. We keep playing guys like Telfair or even Frye who are horrible. Every game I've to see a chucking Frye and Telfair, Lopez or even Warrick. Why does nothing change in their style of play? I haven't watched our last games (except the Lakers game) because I already know what to expect. I really loved our team the last few years but it's tough to watch them right now. If this team stays the same after the All Star Break / trading deadline I'll completely lose my faith in this organization.

It's because we have the same dumb coach playing them, and telling them to shoot, shoot, shoot. They are just following orders.

I was simply referring to it as "Kool-Aid" because it was the same thing we were fed from our front office at the time, I didn't mean any implications toward you personally.
