If Melo and Smith don't play were gonna lose by 8+ . It would be great if we can get this W and go into our games against the heat and bulls 1 or 2 games above .500

If Walker is in the starting lineup, Knicks are in deep trouble. Need a legitimate threat and at least somewhat smart player so that Lin isn't double and triple teamed. I'd rather start Jeffries, Novak, JR (if he's available) or even Jordan instead of Walker.

I feel like Jorts will be that "enforcer" for our team when he comes back. I do agree that I'm disappointed our guys aren't taking shots back at the players roughing Lin up throughout the course of the game. People need to prove that we are willing to take a foul and **** someone up if they want to mess with one of our stars.

And I hate to say it ... but Melo and Smith aren't known for NOT being thugs 8-)

I'm sure they'd have something to say if Lin takes a foul they don't necessary agree with.

+1 We really need some toughness on the court other than Lin and Chandler. Hope Melo, Smith, and Jorts would step up if others can't do it.

I would actually put Stat on Dirk. If we put Chandler on Dirk, he will get into foul trouble with Dirk's drives. Stat doesn't play team defense well, so might as well have him focus on Dirk, and Dirk's game is more 1 on 1 than backdoor plays, which gives Stat more of a chance. Dirk is going to score anyway, so I'd rather have it be on Stat than drawing fouls on Chandler.

I'd rather have Stat on Dirk to keep Tyson out of foul trouble, plus allow Tyson to play help defense (you can't help if you are guarding Dirk). How about rotating Jordan, Jeffries, and Novak out there for major minutes against Dirk?

MD should start Jefferie over the defense reliability Stat.
His defense has no lateral movement due to his bum knees.

Stat isn't a starter material anymore.
He always had a low BB IQ even during his prime. He doesnt know the meaning of a team basketball while sorely relying upon his athletism dus far. I knew from the beginning his deficiency was well protected by playing along side of "superstar distributor" Nash.

At this point in his career, he went as far as his freakish athleticism allowed him to be, in return, his exposure will be imminent.

Stat should be a spark plug to ignite the offensive end as a second unit ala Jason Terry.

It's going to be a tough battle for us going
up against the defending Champs but I'll be happy regardless whether we get to win or to lose as long as we play a lockdown or at least a solid defense effort.

I'm counting on you Mike Woodson.
