when people point out the obvious racial connotation to that headline, we have a whole bunch of white folk trying to turn it around on the people who are pointing it out...like they are to blame for something. it's ridiculous.

This debate has never been about 'can this be construed as offensive?'

Of course it can. That's why when the error was noticed it was taken down, and an apology was made - ESPN is not in the business of offending people.

The question is (and always had been) 'was this an intentional racist slur, or did somebody just eff up?'

And to that, I think the evidence strongly points to it being a f*ck up. You're free to disagree though.

you know what? i don't even think it was intentionally racist. i'd bet the writer thought he was being witty or something more than anything. however, i understand how that can be offensive to certain people and it just annoys me when those people point it out and then others rush to blame THEM for being offended or commenting on it. to me, that's a fukking joke.

im half asian, my mom is asian, and i'll tell you this... asians are not that sensitive when it comes to racism. we could really careless because in the community, we already think of ourselves superior to whites, blacks, latins, and jews.

im half asian, and even i think Lin is overrated

he is an okay player, but i think it is racist about all the hype he is getting. it is not that uncommon for once in a while, that an undrafted guy becomes a starter and helps his team. Lin is just getting extra attention because of reverse racism
