Jarret Jack or team fellow Greivis Vasquez?

Post#1 » by Congresista » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:51 am

Hello, guys,

I'm playing in this daily 10 team league (FGM - FG%- FTM-FT%-3PTM-3PT%-PTS-REB-AST-ST-BLK-TO) and I'm coming 2nd despite having drafted very badly. I've been making the right moves and plucking interesting FA that allowed me to come all the way up. So after this upside Im really pumped up and wanna take the crown for what I offered Nene Hilario, Caron Butler and maybe a third player, + my fourth pick of next year's draft (yeah, I know, heterodox, but we are a group of friends that play a league every year so I thought it would be interesting adding this) for Lebron James. Happens that his owner is very low in the table without real chances of coming among the top 5 and has many injured player, so he would benefit from this as much as I would.

Well, cutting down to the chase, I need assists. Lebron is a nice adding, but I need to drop Corey Maggette today (he aint playing till Weds and he's production comes down merely to points) for one of the NO guys (playing 3 games in 4 days or sth). I owned Jack earlier on this season, before he got sidelined for 10 games and he was fun following and worth owning IMO. Right now, I'm not sure we are gonna see his best game, he was consistently scoring and passing the rock at the start of the season, but I think that's over and maybe the Venezuelan dude will take over the PG position and play 30 minutes a night, moving Jack to the SG position and releasing him from play making responsibilities, hence his assist production would decline. In normal circumstances I would have no doubt and secure JJ over GV, but those almost 8 APG in the last 10 games are very tempting...

So please, guys, let me know what you think of all this and sorry for the long piece. Just needed some sharing ;)

P.S: Great forum, btw!

dunno. jack sucks but the hornets are stupid. -shrugs-

vasquez' game is more fantasy-friendly and he's done it lately. i'd go with him. but no need to agonize over it because it's more like a guessing game than a solution with a mathematical answer

Hahaha, it's funny you say that, that's the very same conclusion I reached after 2 hours pondering it. I went for Jack because I think that GV is more likely to remain as FA than JJ. Sort of fishing the more attractive fish, so to say. Anyway, I guess when healthy Jack has a higher trade value than Vasquez.
