This team plays scared against the real elite teams. Seems like we're always behind and have to fight our way back into games.

so he can ISO with his teammates standing around during garbage time?

I am kidding, I know what you mean. He may help at times, but he is never gonna see the floor until he plays within the system.

imo the "system" is flawed...have been for two seasons now....sometimes the "system" needs an update and it should of been updated 3 seasons ago...we're the same team that plays the same way....chuck and pray method first...feed Dwight second....I'll give anybody 100 bucks through paypal if they can tell me what changed for us offensively for the better through these past 3 seasons....Something that is designed by Stan not just players getting better

well, I meant defensive system. Magic has no offensive system, just basic pass and cut, and pnr. To me, this team is capable of running much better. But you can't involve your center in that offense.

and it really doesn't matter. Stan is the captain, it is his ship.

I don't understand why a trade hasn't been rumored, this team continues to struggle against good teams and it is obvious a 2nd round exit at best is among us. You can get lucky in a few games throughout the playoffs, but these 3's won't always drop.

Because there isn't a trade in the works?? Knowing Otis ..

As long as Otis likes this team, we're doomed

When Nelson and Turk refuse to create plays/defense then this team is as good as done. Seriously, even with Howard. The dunce cap goes to everyone today, Nelson, Turk, Anderson, Dwight, Stan, and Duhon. Only exceptions should be JJ and Q. Both of them contributed and hustled.

Whatever, a loss is a loss. Move on to the next one.

BTW did anyone catch the little snippet about Dwight talking about "Teammates backing" him up? Curious to some of the reactions you guys have.

And that's my big problem with Stan and his offense....THE BUCK STOPS THERE...if the shots isn't falling Stan has nothing else....no backup....no contingency.....i mean granted we've played that way for so long but it's tough hearing your coach in the playoffs say...."well you have to hope shots will fall" HOPE......HOPE? i still remember when he said that against Atlanta last year and i was LIVID...i don't want to hear that from my coach....he's saying basically..."if shots don't fall i got nothing" i hate that about our team and coach

In "Otis' defense", usually he doesn't do a trade that is rumored, his trades are usually out of nowhere. I'm sure he's working the phones, but I'm with you, hopefully something happens and soon. I expect after the all-star break for some moves to happen. I just hope Anderson isn't involved unless it's for someone like Monta.

But we play the same system when the 2nd unit is on the floor and we don't have Dwight. You can't run the 1 in 4 out with Glen Davis. That is a big reason our 2nd unit is terrible, they don't have time to practice plays outside of our system.

Edit: I see I missed your follow up about this being about defense.

I miss Arenas. And to think, getting under the tax by amnestying Arenas allowed us to trade Bass for Baby! Brilliant!

I expected the loss. the way the heat were playing now any team would have lost. but i want to point out that when dwight plays ultra hustle pesky teams he always struggle. the magic need a true first option scorer. A trade needs to happen or as others have said you cant win with the three ball.

I thought they would roll with arenas for one season. Wouldnt have harmed us, unless we needed to be under the tax for future trades since you can't amnesty during the season.

Yeah.........

If I had known it was going to play out like this, I might have been ok with keeping him.

Although its not any of our money arenas contract would be 40 mil because of lux tax. no flexability to make any trades unless you plan on trading him with howard.

yeah this is what annoys me the most... we amnesty Arenas... only to sign J-Rich and S&T Bass (who had an option after this season) for Davis on terrible deals with no option.. while not able to move players like Duhon, Turk, or Q-Rich for expiring contracts or good players on better deals... brilliant Otis... you pretty much offset the only pro of amnestying Arenas (which is to clear cap) by $till adding to it

i guarantee you by 2013 summer this team will somehow manage to still be over the cap :-?

Question - did Turkulou suit up for this game? did Nelson play also?
Don't remember seeing them much - all I remember is Howard grinning like a Cheshire cat in the 4th quarter when we were 18 points behind!

It's funny about Arenas though....If he was still here it wouldn't be so bad imo....even though he wasn't explosive the vision was still there....the last thing i remember about Arenas is that Atlanta game where he looked pretty good....At least with Arenas even if he's playing bad he could still get hot at any moment...Duhon is a FAR cry from that.....i'd take last year's Arenas over Healthy Duhon right now.....
