What's there to lose? He can't be worse than Fisher and Blake.

Sure he could :D

 have you watched that team? it can't get much worse from the PG spot

they got a good sharp shooting rookie in Goudelock, they really should just start him..

Lakers' Officials Attend Arenas Workout
Feb 13, 2012 9:58 AM EST

Officials from the Lakers attended a private workout for Gilbert Arenas on Sunday, according to sources.

Arenas moved well and made a positive impression, according to sources, but there was no sense of how quickly a deal may come together if at all.

Both Mike Brown and Kobe Bryant have endorsed the potential signing of Arenas.

I think the Laker's are the most likely destination for Arenas.

I think the Laker's first choice is to add JR Smith. I think the Clippers probably have the inside track for him. They can basically offer him the starting SG position along side one of the top PGs in the league.

The Lakers could give JR Smith about 25 minutes a game by resting Bryant more and taking minutes at SF from Matt Barnes and the bricklayer formerly known as Ron Artest. However he would still mostly be the 3rd or 4th option.

The Clippers could give him 30+ minutes in addition to the starting spot and being the 2nd or 3rd scoring option offensively.

From the Lakers board:

They interviewed Adande previewing the Lakers Hawks game and he mentioned that Arenas is all systems go and he will sign after the all star break. He went home until then to get ready.

Take it for what it's worth, but that is what was said. And y'all know I ain't got time to bs you

Gil on the Lakers? Meh.

Maybe Arenas signing with the Lakers is a done deal. Howeve if it is not I think the Clippers are a potential destination.

And the winner is (drumroll): Lakers!

Low risk, medium-high reward signing.

EDIT: nvm. It was just a rumor. I still think the Lakers will sign him eventually.

Very interesting read, thanks for posting.

Even if he doesn't have a successful NBA comeback, it seems like he is a lot happier these days.

After the gun incident, he went through a lot on top of it. I'm glad he's gotten to clear his mind, spend time with his family and do some new things.

I think we all know Gilbert can still play the game and we all know he can still be effective, his mind was simply elsewhere.

So I decided I'm not here to prove anybody wrong anymore. I'm just here to prove myself right.

Sounds like the advice I was saying Wall should take. When he was picked in a exibition game is not something to get publicly upset about.

As for Gil talking about who he is publicly vs privately. Hey Gil, everyone doesn't have that problem. You created agent zero. No one forced that one you. Most players don't have that problem. Now if you want to be a Hulk Hogan type personality, then you are two people. One public. One private.

But there are lots of NBA stars who just seem to be themselves. Actually, most of them are. LeBron has problems but that is the only one that comes to mind.

"I'm not going to lie, I feel so much better. I'm jumping and moving like before I got injured, like it's basically '06 again. My explosiveness, my jumping ability, my quickness -- it feels like I never got injured. I can see why he's out there doing what he's doing at his age.

Well that' good to hear. Hopefully we get to see him balln again.

Wow, a long read with lots in it. I will have to finish later. Gil is a funny cat.

I hope he comes back and has a solid couple years in the NBA, so that Gil can close that chapter on a good note.

I wish he knew how much a good therapist can help. It is easy for him to see the difference in his ankles and hips after receiving treatment, but I bet he be amazed at how much having the right confidante in a top therapist can benefit you as well.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

If he signs with the Lakers maybe Meta World Peace can hook him up with a good therapist.
