MIN/LAL/ORL

Post#1 » by TheProdigy » Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:57 pm

Minnesota Timberwolves
OUT
D. Williams, M. Beasley, L. Ridnour, A Randolph, B. Miller
IN
P. Gasol, J. Redick

Los Angeles Lakers
OUT
A. Bynum, P. Gasol
IN
D. Howard, L. Ridnour, A. Randolph, B. Miller

Orlando Magic
OUT
D. Howard, Redick
In
A. Bynum, D. Williams, M. Beasley

Wolves go into win-now mode by improving their front court and backcourt, while fixing the congested depth chart.

Lakers get the best center in the game and a new starting point guard(Ridnour). They get Randolph's expiring, but they might like him and resign him instead. Miller will retire this season so he's an expiring too.

Magic get some nice rebuilding pieces with Bynum and Williams. Beasley gets another chance, but if it doesn't work out he's an expiring.

Wolves lineup:
Pau/Pekovic/Milicic
Love/Tolliver
Johnson/Webster
Redick/Ellington
Rubio/Barea/Lee

Wolves rotation:
Pau 18/Pek 30
Love 36/Pau 12
Johnson 24/Webster 24
Redick 36/Barea 12
Rubio 36/Barea 12

Thoughts?

From what I've read/heard, the Magic want both Gasol & Bynum. Not sure that ever happens, but if any 3-way deal were to include us, we should have Gasol going to the Magic and make a small package for just Redick.

That's probably because Gasol is the only other thing on the Lakers besides Kobe of any value. It wouldn't shock me if they preferred Williams.

Think bigger! Mega deal... nets us a SG rather than a 3rd PF/C.

Lakers get: Howard, Turkoglu, Ridnour
Out - Bynum, Gasol

Orlando gets: Bynum, Scola, Beasley, Pick(s)
Out - Howard, Turkoglu

Houston gets: Gasol, Wuss
Out - Martin, Scola, Hill, Pick(s)

Wolves get: Martin, Hill
Out - Beasley, Ridnour, Wuss, Pick(s)

There may need to be changes to the minor pieces or additional pieces to make the salaries work, but it should be pretty close.

That's not a bad trade, however I think that Pau and Redick is a much better haul than Martin and Hill.

I like DaKidKG's original trade for the Wolves and it seems in the ballpark for Magic and Lakers. Nice trade proposal IMO.

To bad we don't need a power forward. No way.
A little deal for redick sounds like a much better idea.

Yes, Pau and Redick is a better haul, but you're also giving up Williams instead of Beasley. In my proposal, you still have Williams to swing a deal for a SF to complete the line-up. In Gasol deal, we lose our best asset.
