I'm in your corner when it comes to a 2nd pick... Escaping this draft with 2 UNC players would be a blessing... (Barnes & Marshall)

It's ok to not like the guys character. But you can't deny the talent.

Mashburn is about the best Harrison Barnes comp out there. They are virtually clone copies of each other.

If injuries hadn't derailed Mash, he could have been great. As it is with a career average of 19/5/4 over 11 injury riddled seasons is pretty good. He only really had 5 healthy season in there.

I'd certainly take that with our pick if I could get it.

UConn is only five mins in but I haven't seen them play for 3 weeks or so and Drummond is looking a lot more active and engaged than last time I watched him.

Exactly. I'm not sure he's actually seen him play based on his scouting reports.

Wow this UConn team are awful. It's like they have no game plan at all. They're getting killed on both ends right now.

They could be good if they weren't so stupid. They give up good shots to take damn near impossible ones.

They look like this is the first game of pre-season.

Nice to hear Devlin commentating for the Grizzlies back in the day :)

Man, loved the signature Mashburn fadeaways out of the post. It's probably because it happens to be one of my favorite shots in basketball - Vince Carter perfected the fadeaway, it was unguardable, but he probably went to it too much.

Anyway, Mashburn is a good comp for Harrison Barnes.

As far as the Pierce comparison goes, I'm not sure if that's a good comparison only because Pierce is such a great playmaker. One thing I'd like to see Barnes improve is his passing. Maybe, he is a good passer, but I'm not sure since I don't see him do it that much, especially off the dribble.

The character has nothing to do with it and dont they all have talent.
( I dont really care about the character at this point)

Can that talent translate at the next level? thats the only question.

We talking about a player with no elevation on his J with a low point of release; Do you believe he can get his shot off at the next level effectively?

Looking at Baylor games; do you actually rate him higher that PJIII and why?

Tell me what you see in me.

Did Drummond just miss a point-blank dunk?

LAMB AND DRUMMOND ACTUALLY SUCK. They do nothing to make their teams better. No leadership from either of them. If any of you fools still want these guys to be drafted by us after this game then you're just a fanboy with a boner tbh.

The UConn staff and the non-scholie players (except for Drummond) should pull a reverse Roy Williams, and abandon the team in the middle of the game.

Its a weak bubble - all UConn has to do is take care of business and win against Nova, Providence, and Pitt. Apparently that's too much for these bums.

I think its Sunny that raised the point in an earlier post on this thread (not going back) about whether we underrate prospects on bad teams. I have not really got pumped about Lamb at any time this year.

I certainly have a hard time appreciating prospects when they are on underachieving teams (especially ones I hate like UConn), probably largely due to the fact that I am an NCAA "game" fan rather than prospect oriented.

UConn's game plan

Offense:

- Pass ball round perimeter and jack up contested shots
- Drive to the basket out of control and throw up anything near the basket - the side of the backboard will do
- Miss fast break layups and putback dunks

Defense:

- Allow any entry pass deep into the paint without any pressure
- Back off perimeter players allowing them room to shoot
- Get easily outmuscled in the lane

*edit*

15 mins in and they have finally realised they're playing a basketball game. Better late than never I guess!

Says the guy with Perry Jones in his signature. Yeah, you have lots of credibility
