Game #30: Clippers(19-10) @ Warriors(11-17)

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Mon Feb 20, 2012 1:10 pm

After letting their last one slip out of their hands against the Spurs the Clippers will head up north to the Bay Area and play the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors aren't all that great this year, winning just 11 of their 28 games so far, but they've played most of their opponents pretty close at home and won't be easily beaten.
They're able to score with the best of them and the Clippers will need to keep their turnovers low, to not give them any chances to run, which is one of their strengths.

Key Matchup

Blake Griffin

vs

David Lee

After his first 20/20 game as an NBA player Blake will have his work cut out for him, being challenged by David Lee. Lee's a proven double double guy in this league and always plays Griffin very tough.

Our lucky charm for for this one

Five Questions:

Who will win the coaching matchup?(I know, it's a tough one  )
Will Blake be able to outwork David Lee?
Who will score more? Foye or Mo?
How many points will CP3 score in the 4th quarter?
Will DJ be able to dominate in the paint against Biedrins?

Discuss and Go Clips Go!!!

The Warriors are a team that we should beat. I say should because I know that no game is a guaranteed win. We were close last game but came up short. As long as the guys are hungry and focused I think we should be OK. We need to guard the 3, rebound, and not turn the ball over. We need to pull this one out tonight.

Gotta get win#20. The conference is so tight, it is important not to drop games (Saturday) which we should have won. I think we need to get a #4 seed or better & w/ this short season teams like G.S. who think we are their Rival, get up for games like this. You know Jackson is in their ear telling them the Clips are crap & that GS is a better team & to protect their court.
Clips gotta come out taking care of business!

Play defense, do not turn the ball over, rebound, and execute. That's all I want from the Clippers. Give me 4 quarters of that and I can sleep peacefully tonight.

Oh, and win the game..can't forget about that.

After completely blowing is vs coach Pop and the spurs, we better come out ballon and take care of business tonight. No excuses. GS can be tough in Oakland but there is no reason we don't win this thing by 10+

If you ever need a gauge as to how bad some losses are, just use mk's silence as reference. You know it's bad when the last thing he posted was " :nonono: " two days ago.

I always hate when the Clippers play Golden State. They always seem to give us a run for our money.

On a side note though, is anyone else loving how much defensive intensity Kenyon Martin brings to the team as much as I am? I knew he was considered a good defender, but I never thought he was THIS good. Him joining the team and the timely rise of Evans' game really has lit a fire under the Clips defensively. Now the next step is to have the defense be really good consistently each game for 48 minutes a game.

finally home from work. i am really pumped for this game tonight. i hope to see more of bledsoe tho, looks like CP3 has been laboring. his lack of scoring in 1-3 quarters may have to do with his knee. the fear prior to the trade hasn't gone away for me but CP3's playing so far with EJ's injury proneness has won me over. vinny and the staff must keep a close eye on CP3's minutes and his body language.
ehhhhh f it.

Just giving everyone a heads up. I'm not feeling that well so I won't be posting much tonight. I'll be paying attention to the game and hope that we win.
