I have seen way too much to beleive having Amare and Melo on the court at the same time would ever work. It just not going to work. Melo needs a tough defensive forward who doesnt need the ball or to score to be effective next to him. Ditto if we keep Amare.

i will be OK with taking back any garbage for Amare. i am talking anything, salary dump type garbage whatever. Just get us out of Amare's contract, if we can't get back expiring contracts then atleast get terrible players with smaller contracts.

Knicks FO must shop Amare hard this deadline, if not they are not doing their job.

OKC would be okay with Nick Collison, defensive PF great value, and Serge Ibaka, offensive putbacks pf, + cash consderations. Let's trade with them.

   You think the Thunder would give up Ibaka for Amar'e at this point in the season?

Thank god more people are FINALLY noticing what's wrong & sating yes he needs to go.

He does NOTHING good for us other than occasional scoring.

He sucks as a defender, he's a average rebounder, he has no post game, he's lost his step, his knees look like they're done, his defensive awareness is the equivalent of sh*t, his spacing is woeful, please for the love of god management shop him around the league AGGRESSIVELY.

unfortunately for us Isiah Thomas doesnt have a GM job in the NBA. He is the only one that would trade for Amare at this point. He would propably pony up some picks in the process.

And this is why I just shake my head & realize we'll just have to stick with a untradeable contract for the rest of his time here.

He is not untradeable... Eddy Curry was untradeable. Stoudemire's contract can be traded to some desperate team... I hope... I have faith in Glen Grunwald.

how much more do you want to keep jeffries, novak, and j.r. than keep amar'e

I'd rather keep JJ, Novak, and J.R. then keep Amar'e.

I know this is likely wont happen but would the lakers trade gasol to the knicks for amare, just to try and give a change of scenery for both guys?

Doubtful. Mike Brown is a defensive coach.

Those who say this thread is untimely and only attacking Amare because of his loss are wrong. Look at the date of the first post, look at the arguments and complaints - they have nothing to do with his loss and all to do with his play, his lack of BBIQ, and his hypocrisy.

As you go through the thread, more and more people are open to the idea of trading Amare - something that I've been advocating since the loss to the Bobcats. Let's face it - he's shown no improvement since then. And weeks ago, a significant number of people were not even open to discussing this topic when a few of us saw the writing on the wall.

I don't even care if Amare improves athletically or starts hitting the jumper consistently. Until he becomes more than a matador wimp on defense, he is holding back this team.

Disclaimer: I can't even be that upset about the loss last night - Deron his 8 three's and we had to work a new rotation. I can live with that.

Additionally, I do get a chuckle out of Amare getting "mad" that he gets scored on - like when he punched the net and when he bounced the ball really hard before going into the timeout in the Mavs game.

Amare is the worst defender in the league. And it's said and pathetic that he parades around like he is a some sort of intimidating shot blocking force.

... is he a good defender? No.

Is he an average defender? No.

Is he a below average defender that can be shielded on our team? No.

Can he be trusted to make a correct defensive rotation? No.

Do you think his teammates take him seriously when he grills at the refs after getting duped by a mediocre scorer for an And-1 situation? No.

Do you think his teammates trust him when he yells out defensive assignments and points his finger and lets out a yell when he blocks a shot? No.

Is he a cancer on our team defensively? Yes.

And he is exactly while we will never be a legitimate title contender.

Standing Tall And Timid

or

Standing Tall And Turnover

As long as he is a Knick I will support him and hope for the best but he isn't untouchable at all...
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I would be ecstatic if we could trade him for a couple scrubs and a 7 or 8 mill expiring so we can resign JR .

I love this quote from last night - the epitome of fake hustle:

"We did a great job of trying to contain those guys, but they were hot out there," Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire said. "There's not really much to say."

Here's a question:

What would you kick in with Stat to move him to the Lakers for Gasol?

Stat+Fields?

Stat+Shump?

His post game comments for outrageous enough. Amare claimed we played great defense but NJ hit shots therefore there was nothing to do.
