The BUT is Harris isn't resigning here so you're basically asking someone to take Garcia so that we do not have to pay him anymore.

Talent wise though I like the deal. I just don't know about basically giving away Jimmer to let Garcia expire early. If we were retaining Devin Harris for three years I'd be all for it.

In all honesty, that's what this team needs him to be. This team needs a JJ Reddick floor spreader/spot shooter. Jimmer has looked good when used that way but Smart seems to really want to refine his PG skills, which is good for the long term, not so good for the short term. I've been surprised at some of the things Jimmer can do. He's doing things that he wasn't supposed to be able to do and has already proven a lot of people wrong who doubted his court vision and PG skills.

Harris would re-sign here, I don't see him having a ton of value around the league with his play and the recent surge in decent PG's around the league in the last few years. Doesn't chance the fact that Harris is a terrible fit for this team.

I followed J-Lin since he entered the NBA and Keith Smart almost ruined his career over at Golden State. Never gave him a shot and kept playing Acie Law. Even when Lin played well, he would again be benched next game or sent down to D-League. Lin pretty much hinted that Smart never let him play through mistakes or learn. Golden State ownership is even saying Lin should have played more but that Smart was trying to "save his job" and refused to play Lin over Acie.

Same thing is happening to Jimmer. He looked great for that stretch he started for Thornton and was getting his shot and confidence back, actually looked like he was getting the speed of the NBA game. He was averaging like 16ppg through 4 games and shooting somethig like 65% from 3 over that period. Then for whatever reason he's DNPed multiple times and benched again afterwards. How is that excusable? Why crush his confidence with DNPs just as he's starting to get into a groove?

There was also that game where Jimmer put up 15 points in one quarter only to ride the pine the rest of the game for no reason.

I really do hope the Kings trade him, maybe he can pull a Jeremy Lin and blow up on another team. Then Smart can give the same speech "Oh yeah he had the skill but just didn't know what to do, my team helped him with that, now he's put it together and is seeing success."

Smart is a clown. I love how he's trying to take credit for Lin's success now after almost getting him pushed out of the league.

The Kings are on a 6 game losing streak. How is he any better than Westphal? Only thing he's better at is being "boys" with some of the players and saying all the right stuff in interviews. He can't develop talent, and shows strong bias against certain players and strong favoritism for others.

Kings fans love to hate Jimmer due to his hype and Jimmermania and the double standard is sickening. Jimmer can have 20 points and it's "yeah but his defense lost us the game and he still sucks" Isaiah Thomas can go 0-7 with multiple turnovers and it's "I love IT's energy and spark, he gave his all."

Harris is garbage and on the decline. I'm ok parting with Garcia for him, but I'm not giving up on Fredette after less than half of an abbreviated season where his coach refuses to correctly utilize his skills, and lately, even play him. I'm not going to say that Fredette should be playing over Thomas, but he should be cracking the line up.

And you can't counter by saying Smart is intelligently dividing minutes. This is the same coach who has let John Salmons average 28 minutes per game and shoot three 3's a game on 27.2% shooting. The same coach who has DNP-CD'd Cisco an absurd amount of times so that John Salmons could get his minutes.

I'm in favor of making a trade, but you don't give up on a rookie for a player who has gotten progressively worse over the past few years, who can't shoot, and is only putting up 9 and 4 as a starting PG on a team with excellent bigs. Blame the system all you want, but it's not like we have a system that obviously suits him.

The opinion of this fan is that Garcia and Greene should both be ahead of John "the fish" Salmons in the depth chart. I have no qualms about moving Garcia, but this doesn't seem like the right fit.

A massive bust...mostly because of what we gave up to obtain him.

Beno Udrih and (Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker) for Jimmer and John Salmons.

Walker and Knight have both been great...while Jimmer...well...he's not even the best rookie on our team.

Kemba's not really doing any better than Jimmer dude... give it some time.

Everyone needs to relax when judging Jimmer. He's making a huge transition trying to learn how to play PG at the NBA level. Isiah Thomas has been a PG his entire life and was very prepared to make the jump to the NBA. Jimmer will be fine in a few years. See Steve Nash and Kevin Johnson's careers. Be patient people. Shooters like Jimmer are extremely rare. He'll be fine.
