What type of penalties are we facing in our future?

Post#1 » by Vertical Limit » Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:30 am

This is in regards to the salary cap and the Big Three of course. There's a huge penalty we'll be hearing about in the future, and some have said Arison will re-think the Big Three when the penalties arrive.

How much are we talking about here in regards to the penalties, and if so, what type of trades do you think we'll see? How early do you expect a move to be made? (a year from now or two?) I think most here will say Bosh is the odd man out.

Not sure what the penalties have in store or when they will happen, but if one of our Big 3 must be dropped, the most logical move would be to drop Bosh.

Wade is a Heat for life, which leaves Bosh and LeBron... No-brainer right there.

Can't Bosh just resign with a lower salary?

Are you talking about the luxury tax?

And with Mickey getting hit economically AND this Carnival Cruise ship wreckage.... I'm sure he won't hesitate :(

And yeah it's Bosh who will be the odd one out. No idea who would come in, or the types of trades we'll make.

We will just have to wait and see (which I am nervous about).

I mean I like Bosh, but he shouldn't be paid the same amount as LBJ or Wade.

Maybe they will all resign again for lower pay during their team option year :)

Wishful thinking :)

If they win a couple of championships before this happens, I bet they will do this

If they win a few titles in a row before it happens the endorsement money for Lebron, Wade will be insane. Lebron will be making like 60 million a year from endorsements if they pull off a few titles in a row before it.....Even Bosh will probably pull like 10 million a year in endorsements.

Lebron and Wade would not even notice if they cut their NBA salary down from 16 million or w/e to 11 million or so.

Ya Mickey lost some of his stock value, but he's still worth billions and his heart is with this team. I doubt he minds paying the extra, especially with how much money the team is making him.

What penalty are you guys talking about? The CBA is already formalized, wouldn't the penalties already be known? Articles please.

The harsher luxury tax doesn't kick in until '13-14. After that is when things will get interesting, as far as the usage of the amnesty and such. But if win the next two titles, Micky will be like IDGAF and likely pay whatever we have to keep the core together.

If I remember correctly, basically if you exceed 5 million, the owners owe about 1.50 for every dollar spent that exceed, and if it's more than 5 million it can exceed up to 3.25 per dollar. We're talking big penalties here especially since we are a luxury tax team.

Even with the big 3 we aren't some crazy high payroll team.

All the way in 13/14 we have our top 9 guys signed for only 75 mil and we don't have any big extensions coming up.

Compare that to the Lakers who have just Gasol, Artest, Blake and Kobe at 61 mil with a Bynum extension coming up.

Sure we might need replacements for Battier/Haslem/Miller by then but we aren't going to shoot way over the luxury tax.

Keeping this team together shouldn't be hard as long as Lebron or Wade doesn't break down.
