Alright guys, Philly/Laker fan here. I have a serious question for you guys. When the Supersonics were planning their move to Oklahoma City, I heard that the name for the new franchise would be from a fan vote. If that is true, what were other options for the name? I'm really curious to see what other names this successful franchise could have been named.

I dont believe it was fan vote. They shortlisted it to four apparently but tehy never officially released anything.

All I remember was one of the names floating around...Oklahoma City Barrons...I remembered it because I thought it was by FAR the best of them all. Then I was dissapointed when they picked Thunder.

Ya but he's right though. We got the Barons a year or two after naming the Thunder.
Honestly I like the Barons name, color scheme, and logo better than the Thunder's
