I like it but I wonder how much more you need to give up for lee?
Monta/lee/dwight will be a great team in a couple years

It's no question that the Warriors are searching for a legit center. They've wanted one ever since Jackson became the head coach. I highly doubt Minny trades their stud center for Monta. Monta and Rubio just doesn't seem logical. Then again, this is the same team that drafted 3 point guards in the same year...

If that's what we're competing against, that's tough. We'd certainly have to get a 3rd team involved.

The sad thing is that Vince Carter is better than Hedo or JRich. We traded him and Gortat just to downgrade his position. Hindsight is 20/20, and JRich was balling in Phoenix, but my oh my doesn't that trade just look horrid now.

it was a panic move, otis clearly didn't think it through. he killed two birds with 1 stone on the move, our assets and cap flexibility.

Right. As fans I remember we were excited by the moves. I remember arguing that Hedo as a starter would contribute more than Gortat as a bench player would, and I had bought into the JRich hype too. Then again, we are fans, we are supposed to think irrationally about our team and every move we make! LOL We are like children that don't know better, that blindly trust and smile in innocence. While the FO are the parents and supposed to protect and see things rationally. Otis has been one hell of a negligent parent!

ESPN just put up NBA standings, and I didn't realize we're tied for the 5th best record in the NBA. Looks a lot nicer when you consider our standing in the NBA as a whole.

add another mistake our FO has made by not getting crawford@2years over jrich@4yrs. Crawford could of played backup pg and we wouldn't of seen any duhon. He is also a much better player than jrich

imagine if we had won those overtime losses (Spurs, Clippers, Hawks), took care of business against Detroit (brainless loss), and had shown up for those games against Boston (2x), Indiana, New Orleans, Philadelphia during that horrendous stretch where our guys were affected by the Dwight/media comments.

We'd have the best record in the league, or tied for it.

Exactly which is why it is hard to gauge this team right now. The inconsistency is rampant right now but we are good enough to compete with anyone in the NBA whether people want to believe it or not. It will become much clearer once we sort out the Dwight situation.

when shots are falling we can hang with any team in the league.

the problem is the losses that come when teams are able to stop us from making shots - Hawks/Boston/Miami/OKC/Chicago. and that's what we're up against come playoff time, not the NJ/Indy/Milwaukee teams we've been feeding on the kick this season off.

i think you got it right the first time around.

that trade made orlando better. the question is, could there be a trade that would make us much much better. obviously yes, but no one was helping Magic out at the time. peaches and gortat were at their worst, they were believed to have very little trade value. VC was just semi-expiring, no rebuilding team had a player that magic could use.

there had always been second thoughts about dismantling the 2009 team. basically a two birds one stone move. getting back a key player from 2009 team that ownership and dwight expressed that they wanted AND dwight/Hedo was a low risk move in comparison to for example sending out jameer for baron davis. not a better talent were available to magic with the assets we have.

PHX trade made sense then, it makes sense now. the only better option could be to ride out the **** storm, sacrifice the season, further frustrate the fans, amnesty Lewis and try to put together a team through free agency. this is called judging after the fact though.

obviously, there were some problems with that. This seasons FA class was weak, there was no single difference maker available. and what if there were no season and dwight were to walk? otis had to do something' that is a risk no one could take. too much uncertainty. and fans were restless, they anted something to happen. would you be patient? no **** way.

so yeah, that trade made sense. a lot of sense.

We didn't make it of the first round. Gortat is putting up a double double. No, time is not on Otis's side.

I would definitely do this in a heart beat... I would even throw in Harper or Liggins to NOH if they required a young talent in return w/ Lee... or even a draft pick... anything to get Ellis here

With that trade, BBD becomes our starting power forward and our front court "depth" consists of Earl Clark, Justin Harper and Daniel Orton.

I have no problem with that, especially if it gets Ellis here.
