I was joking about Gilbert. I have been thinking the same as you Lilfishi. Like CLE picked up Manny Harris, a guard who has been killing it in the DLeague. I heard we were trying out a few young guys, but nothing has come from it. We tried out Milsap's little brother, which sounds par for the course for us.

Re: Suns Holding Free Agent Workouts
Hell I would bring back our two children, Scottie Reynolds and Matt Janning for a look rather than MIchael Finley........
I would also prefer to play Reynolds as our backup PG rather than Telfair. I swear, even I could run the offence like Telfair can.... Walk the ball up, and pass it to the first guy on the perimeter who is open.... and jack up a shot if the shot clock is running out and you realise you didnt run a play.

Re: Suns Holding Free Agent Workouts
I would just run Price with Hill. Price brings up the ball and passes it to Hill, and he runs the offense. Price is then really used for defense. Although, if Gortat is in the game when Price is, you run a bunch of pick and rolls, which those two run fine. Lately, Gortat has been out there with the second unit, so I don't know why Price isn't out there with him.
Then you move Chilldress to the starting unit, and that way you have both of your crazy hustle guys out on the floor, but at different times. You inject hustle into both units.
I am just surprised Gentry hasn't tried it yet, it seems so simple. I would have also liked to have seen Chilldress on Kobe at least once to see if he can do something. We knew Brown couldn't do squat, so why not try? The worst that could happen is he would be as bad as Brown.

I thought in the previous game, Brown's defence on Kobe late in the game was quite good....

He moved around fast enough, and poked it away once, but Kobe didn't looked phased. Plus in the first game the defense was horrible. Still don't know why Chilldress wasn't tried. Length seems to be the only thing that frustrates Kobe besides Bell. If you watch Hill, he tries to make Kobe change his motion before the shot, by swiping at the ball on the up motion of the shot. I do this often if I have figured out the guy I am guarding's shot mechanics. Now Kobe is good enough to change it, but many guys can't.
I think Chilldress could have done a very similar defense on Kobe that Hill did, and be fresh and quick. But when you put the shorter Brown on him, he will pump fake Brown almost all day, and/or just shoot right over him. I liked the doubling, but many times it was halfassed, or Frye was just too slow.

Yeah my post wasn't targeting you. More following on from the Michael Finley work out and the mentality our FO is running with. Despite all the lip service (straight from Rebuilding-an-NBA-team 101, might I add) we've gotten from B&B, we still seem to be in the market for old has-beens and certified failures. There are a lot of good talent in the D-League and if we really are putting more resources into scouting as B&B was saying during the mid-season event, shouldn't we be putting those resources to work by looking in the D-League? We're terrible this season so we aren't exactly jeopardizing anything by taking chances on talent in the D-league.

Yep, that's why I brought up Blake Ahearn. He himself said he models his game after Nash, it seems logical to see if he could improve by seeing Nash's game first hand. Blake is doing well in the DLeague.
