Re: Trading Jordan Farmar possible LAL reunion
You want them to absorb that salary and send prospects?
I know neither of those guys are even likely to be in the league in a few years but you're being greedy. Farmar for a portion of their TPE straight up sounds like fair value, but you're reaching if you want them to take Shawne as well, let alone throwing in 2 cheap 2nd round prospects.

Straight salary dump. I'd even send them a future 2nd rounder.

Re: The Official Trade Thread
So was just thinking about possible moves in light of Orlando holding onto Howard past the deadline that would still leave us with the full cap for Williams & Howard.
Is there any chance we could trade for Lamarcus Aldridge??
Brook Lopez $3,076,983
Anthony Morrow $4,000,000
Jordan Farmar $4,000,000
Johan Petro $3,250,000
Plus Houston 12' & Nets '12 top 5 protection
FOR
LaMarcus Aldridge $12,875,000
A Johnston $762,195
C Johnston $762,195
(works on ESPN trade machine http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=84lth85 )
Nets Summer Roster 2012:
J Williams $762,195
Brooks $1,193,280
Shawne Williams $3,135,000
Aldridge $13,000,000
----------------------------------
Total Salary = $18,090,475
Salary Cap = $58,000,000
Team Salary = $18,090,475
Cap room = $39,909,525
Would we be able to do this and maintain cap room for Williams & Howard at the actually max while allowing for the 6 cap holds?
Suppose you could stretch Shawne Williams contract to create more cap more also.

No chance whatsoever. The dude is 26, they need a player to build around and he's it.

Coolio, was and still am struggling to find any real quality players we could potentially trade with Lopez and keep max cap space

Personally, I'd trade him for rookie scale guys and picks. This team, depending on how they use the MMLE, will have expiring contracts totalling at least 10 million (Morrow, Petro, and Shawne Williams) and some cap space in 2013, meaning if Lopez is traded for picks and rookie scale guys, the Nets can bundle those picks and rookie scale guys, along with the expirings, for a high profile player at the 2013 deadline.

I have the same dilemma as well. Can't think of any players that could be reasonably obtained for the pieces that we have.

Josh Smith & Iggy are free agents next summer so could be targeted.
2014 has Granger, Deng, Gay, the Miami 3, Melo & Stat.
By next deadline someone like Rudy Gay could become "disgruntled" in other words Howard & D Will could have a word & rather than going through Melogate or Dwightmare Memphis could be open to a trade as in 2014 he could walk.
He would be my prime target, Rudy Gay.

Re: The Official Trade Thread
LaMarcus Aldridge would be amazing.
I agree it's unlikely they deal him, but Paul Allen is hot and cold about improving or blowing it up and although he's a player you can keep in a rebuild he's so good he truly complicates and compromises it.
What if the offer was Lopez, all our salary, our pick unprotected and future picks?
So basically the same package we're offering for Dwight with about half the salary extending an extra year and no MarShon Brooks?
Throw in Jordan Williams as well(Yeah I know, WOW!, lol.)
That's a pretty serious offer.

Re: The Official Trade Thread
^^That would be great but he makes $14 mil next season.
Isn't that too much?
We'd essentially have 17 mil (D-Will) + 19 mil (Dwight) + 14 mil (LMA) + 4 mil (AmMo) + 1+ mil (Brooks) + (I know I'm missing someone....)

Have to run the math to be exact, but it would depend on where the Rockets pick lands.
We would have D Will, LMA, Morrow, Brooks, Rockets pick, Jordan Williams and cap holds.
It would come up around a million short of true max for Dwight if the cap is the same.
If the cap is $60 million or higher we would fit almost to the dollar even considering Deron's max being higher.

IDK, I always go by Mark, but he's English so I understand why you hate him and site.
