Isaiah Thomas for ROY?
Now I realize two things:
1. Its really early
2. He kinda came on late in the year
That being said... is it entirely out of the question to start mentioning this guy in Rookie of the Year discussions? I mean, since he's been thrust into the starting lineup, he's been putting up damn near Jeremy Lin numbers. As a MUCH smaller player, at that. And although we may not be a winning team like New York is, the Kings have been playing MUCH better basketball with Thomas in the lineup. Its like he's been providing everything we've needed at the point as far as playmaking, but his offensive ability is an added bonus.

Uh no. Four games does not get you in the ROY discussion. Though he really should be playing in the Rising Stars game.

Not sure if he can beat Irving and Rubio. Those two guys are already the media-darlings of the NBA and are pretty damn good players.
I don't know. If Thomas keeps putting up numbers, he should get a shout out for 3rd or something. I don't see him overtaking those two guys unless one of them (or both) gets injured or plays poorly throughout the second of half of the season.
He should be in the rising stars game though!

Now of course I'm not suggesting he should actually WIN anything this year, just to at least be mentioned in discussions. And I probably should have specified "if he keeps it up" through the rest of the year. I think he could be a Lin-ish story, considering he was the very last pick in the draft.

Even if he plays like this for the rest of the year I doubt he makes it.
One reason why Tyreke won his ROY was because he did it throughout the year unlike Curry, who did great in the second half of the season.

Don't pretend anyone not named Lin is going to win.
If I had a vote I would vote Irving and Rubio as 1 and 2 as long as they keep it up.

Lin isn't a rookie.

It's probably too late, and so far it isn't translating into wins. Both Minnesota and Cleveland look improved from last season, and it's hard to dispute that Rubio and Irving have been major factors for that.
I think he'll get some shoutouts though if continues to play like he has been, and that would be some well-deserved recognition.

Re: Isaiah Thomas for ROY?
He'll have to take it to a whole nother level consistently for the rest of the year.
Rubio is 5th in the league in assists, ahead of Deron Williams and a fraction behind Chris Paul. That is crazy when you think about it. He's also 2nd in the league in steals. Second. Crazier. His team is much improved as well, and it's not out of the question to attribute most of that to him, since Love was this good last year.
Irving is leading rookies in scoring on pretty mind-boggling FG%, and his team is actually pretty freaking good. They're exceeding expectations and have a fraction of the talent the Kings have. He's the media's favorite rookie as well.
MarShon Brooks will also be getting looks before Thomas, and deservedly so.
So, no, unless those three guys get injured, unfortunately I don't think Thomas is in the running even if he keeps this play up.

Re: Isaiah Thomas for ROY?
IT for ROY is way too early... Other fans probably laugh at that suggestion.... However if IT can keep up his incredible play maybe he can enter the conversation by years end.
I think ROY is a two man race between Irving and Rubio... Id give it to Irving.

Re: Isaiah Thomas for ROY?
The question is can IT keep it up? That is the big question. Or will teams figure him out and he we start averaging more pedestrian numbers?
What do people think? What will IT be averaging by season end? What will he average the next couple years?

I think he'll eventually come back to earth. He's not going to shoot 99% for the rest of the season, hahaha. Still a solid player no question and proving on any given night he can help carry his team to a win.

Re: Isaiah Thomas for ROY?
No way he wins even if he stays consistent. Irving is too good and has been for the whole season. Maybe if he starts putting up 30 a game.
I am just glad that he's playing as well as he is. I think the real question is can he be our long term PG of the future? I think he has the skill set to be just as good as any rookie this year. Might be a little too small but I like where he is headed.
