24 Turnovers!

Post#1 » by fullcourt » Thu Feb 23, 2012 7:46 am

Hawks have been the best in the NBA in protecting the ball the last three years. im use to seeing the Hawks only committing 12 turn overs a game.

everybody criticizes Joe, but among the elite perimeter players, Joe has the lowest turn over per game, which nobody talks about (Joe usually gets 1.5TO, while other stars get 4.0TO). so hopefully, i will use that as the excuse for the 24 turnovers and blowout lose.

Horford also has the lowest turnovers among NBA centers, but that is not a surprise. Josh is in the middle of the pack when it comes to turn overs among NBA PFs, but Josh's assis/turnover ratio is the best among PFs.

Josh's assis/turnover ratio is the best among PFs. thats because power forwards arent supposed to get assists. They're supposed to play inside and score. Which Josh cant do consistently.

We play stupid guard heavy lineups with no one able to get a good shot inside.

Whats the point of this thread?

It was a hard game to watch - all those turnovers. It felt like we had one every other minute ... whoops, we did.

We had our heads somewhere else last night.

1) I see why we don't play faster.

2) It's hard not to turn the ball over when primary ball handlers such as the PG either downed a bottle of Nyquil before tipoff or are more concerned with saving face on the boxscore matchup with transition 3's rather than setting up the offense.

3)Without a primary scorer to play off of, the team had no idea where to go in the halfcourt leading to many wasted seconds before desperation attempts.

4) Ivan Johnson looks as if he only took basketball up on a whim, lost interest but is locked up and is just playing out the string. He had the awfullest turnovers all night.
