Not sure this is what he means...
I don't live in the area, but have been a Magic fan since the 92 and haven't been to the arena. From what I see on TV, Orlando just isnt a great place to play hoop. Even small market teams like OKC and Golden State, seem to provide a much better basketball atmosphere. That's what it seems like Dwight is reffering to.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH. Yes, because the NETS have such a historically amazing crowd...
I've been to many stadiums around the country and honestly, the only teams with better fan-bases than the Magic are probably Blazers, GSW, Mavs, Knicks, Thunder, and maybe Kings. I would say we are on par with Celtics (who are overrated as a fan-base....they care more about the Pats and RedSox up there), Lakers (who can be a horrible fan-base if they aren't at the very top), Spurs, Bulls.
Again, Orlando is one of the few towns (alone with Blazers, Thunder, Kings - which is why they are towards the top) where that is the ONLY pro sports team in town. So everybody focuses their sports-related attention on these teams and the city rallies around them. Yet this clown wants to go to NYC and thinks that he is gonna get that much love? The other 500 pro sports teams (with the Nets being arguably the least cared about there by a mile) might have something to say about that. They had to practically GIVE away seats last night for people to come see him. Gimme a break...

I am assuming that Dwight and his people realise that once he signs a new contract and is locked in to whichever team for the next four years, that will all stop? Fans of opposing teams are doing this because they want to get him to come to their franchise. Once his contract situation is rectified it will go back to him being cheered by his home fans and being treated to indifference, trash talk and occasional boos by opposing fans.
Yep I thought the same thing. I think he gets the same thing nightly from our fans who do a great job of making him the focus. At all games you can see multiple fans wearing superman capes while pretty much the only jerseys worn are Howard's. I think he now takes that for granted so he doesn't see it as special anymore.

There you go sneaking Duhon out of Orlando.
That's actually one of the most realistic, not bad trades I've seen. How did we manage to land SJax though? Why can't we get rid of Rich or Turk for someone more defensive minded that attacks the rim??Calderon + Hedo? I'm not sure I see that working. Didn't it fail in Toronto already?

Dwight always has something to say about needing more out of the fans from Orlando. Everytime he talks about winning he talks about wanting the fans to be more into it. I'm not sure what Dwight thinks of Orlando fans.

BTW, if what was said earlier about D-Will going up to Dwight at the free throw line and softly echoing the crowd's "We want Dwight" chants is true.....and I was a fellow NJ teammate....I would've walked up to D-Will and slapped him upside his head, Rafer Alston style.

SJax was had for QRich/Duhon/Orton. I think both teams benefit there, as Duhon/QRich are good chemistry guys that can shoot the three while they can either cut Orton or try and develop him.

Well, Kenny did not talk about Dwight other than to say while talking about the Lakers that he would trade Gasol and Bynum for Lebron only, but would only trade Bynum for Dwight.

Dwight expects to get what Lin is getting in NY & around the world. He wants ESPN to report his every move like they do Lebron. Dwight is an attention whore and has always been so.

well he sure is getting a lot of attention this year. Maybe if he just keeps signing one year contracts he can go through this every year!

I like this line, "We’re trying to hold on to him and keep him, but he has played his way into a very high status as a point guard” by Casey of the Raptors. Haha, he's definitely on the block.

How does this affect our chances of trading for Monta? If Curry is injured, is Ellis off the block again?

Golden State is fooling themselves if they think they are getting to the playoffs. But if they think they will, Curry being out might make them want to hold onto Ellis, or it might make them just fold it in and come to the realization that they're not making the playoffs and they need to retool and go in another direction.

I would love him on the Magic!
