Al Jefferson's trade value?
If other teams were checking trade options for Al Jefferson, what would be fine for you guys? is he even available?
"I’ve seen a guy that played for the Pacers, gave them everything they had, or everything he had, and was essentially traded to the dogs. And I’m speaking on Danny Granger, who was one of the better players in Pacers history"

Al Jefferson's trade value?
I think he's definitely available. Salary relief + picks. Jazz would take an expiring back or decent role players + a pick or two.
But I've been accused by some of undervaluing him.

Re: Al Jefferson's trade value?
IDK if salary relief is what we are really looking for, but I know this team would like another draft pick for this draft and perhaps a young vet (on 2nd contract depending on contract.) Jefferson is definitely available and I don't think his price is too high.

I don't think Atlanta would do that though.
Jazz_Man_86 on Favors:
"He is not Dwight Howard. He's max is 20 + 13 + 2 = is this a supers tats? No."
Dwight 2011-2012 - 20.6 Points - 14.5 Rebounds - 2.1 Blocks

I really hate Marvin Williams game but I would take about anything I could get to get rid of Jefferson as he is stopping the growth of Kanter and Favors as well as clogging up the Jazz offense.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

I would do that, and ATL wouldn't have to throw in the 2nd rd pick. I'd even do Marvin + Hinrich + 1st for Jefferson and a Utah 2nd..

a starting caliber point guard, or a two guard who can make the three point shot and a pick.

Re: Al Jefferson's trade value?
Atlanta out: Horford, Marvin, Kirk, and Teague
in: Al Jefferson, Nash, and Warrick
Jazz out: Jefferson, Paul Millsap, and 1st round pick
in: Horford and Williams
Suns out: Nash and Warrick
in: Millsap, Kirk, Teague, and 1st from Utah.
Atlanta finally has a complete team with a point who can run a offense and Jefferson who can score in the low post.
Phoenix gets something for Nash with Teague who will be good with a bigger roll on a team and a more picks in this years draft to help the rebuilding they also rid themselves on Warrick.
Jazz get a all-star PF ( Horford) for Jefferson and a 1st.
this trade would be done after March 1st... I used Smith for Horford in the trade Machine just to get the numbers to work.

Re: Al Jefferson's trade value?
Jefferson, Millsap, and Harris are all undervalued on RealGM now. I think that we've been floating them in trade offers for so long that their perceived value has been hurt. They are all legit starters who have sniffed the all star game, and none are too old to play well. Their real value isn't as depreciated as it is around here.

We got Al for a TPE and two picks that weren't valuable and Harris is a scoring PG who can't hit 10 PPG. I think those saying both could probably get, at best, an expiring and a first-round pick is very fair.

Re: Al Jefferson's trade value?
We also got Jefferson coming off of an injury and in a unique situation with his team.
Harris is also taking very few shots. I'd rather wait for him to rebound than move him for peanuts.
First round picks in the range we're talking about routinely fail to become the players that these two are right now. I'd rather play it out with them, they are clearly undervalued.

Re: Al Jefferson's trade value?
Coming off an injury? Dude was injured 20 months before he played his first game with the Jazz. He had more than a whole season (he played 76 games for Minnesota in 09/10) and two offseasons to recover. The unique situation was that he was overpaid and didn't help his team win.Luigi wrote:We also got Jefferson coming off of an injury and in a unique situation with his team.

we must move al. Hard for me because he is hero for jazz. I like it better favor and kanter. I think two guys will become dominate post player. We must kick miles from team. We trade al for a sniper and maybe it help? I like atl trade you says here.

The injury was a major consideration, everyone was mentioning it leading up to the move. Timberwolves fans all agreed that he was just getting back into form when he was moved, which is typical for his kind of injury. You either don't remember that or you are deliberately ignoring it.
Who has ever helped the Timberwolves win? Even KG struggled to get their franchise off the ground. They also had Kevin Love to work with at the time. O'Conner did well to get Jefferson like he did. He got him for less than market value by recognizing an opportunity. He's worth more than you think. The Jazz fan hate for Al on this board is getting stupid.

You're the only one consistently using the word 'hate' when talking about Al Jefferson.

Re: Al Jefferson's trade value?
The Minnesota deal isn't indicative of his league-wide trade value; I do think that was a unique situation. That said, he doesn't have nearly the value some think. We're not getting Rajon Rondo for Al Jefferson.
