And with the emergence of Pekovic, the T'Wolves have a fantastic young and cost-effective core locked up long-term. I don't see them wanting to break up that core and not add to their weakness - getting a perimeter

I would do this deal if I'm Orlando, though.

Maybe, but that team with Pau is much improved, Rubio/Love/Pau is an awesome team. Pau takes that team to a new level. It's time for the Wolves to stop being cheap and take a step forward.

Well said my Orlando friend.

Does anyone actually think that a Barea/Kobe backcourt would be any good...

My god... There is only one ball people!!!

Well I still don't think Brooklyn is a smart choice if you want to contend.

The Nets roster is pretty bad out side of D Will.

thank you... some fans don't understand that concept... if you want dwight, be prepared to take on hedo, nelson, duhon, j-rich, davis, and/or q-rich packaged along with him

nelson may opt out

redick and anderson are not being traded... magic aren't that stupid

how does this make us significantly better? Are we a contender after this trade? I sure dont think so since our wings still suck garbage and we sure as hell cant play Pau, Love and Pek at the same time. All this trade is doing is locking us into being a mediocre 1st or second round playoff team for the next few years. EXCITING!

To me this deal sounds like a leverage deal to get something from NJ. I don't think Dwight really wants to play for the Lakers. I think he wants to go Brooklyn. Only way I think he be interested in La La Land is if Deron can come too.

Why do the Magic need more?

DWill is the #2 pick, he is putting up 7/5 in 17 minutes.

Compared that to FOURTH year, currently injured Lopez, putting up 12/3 in 25 minutes.

DWill is LAST year's #2 pick and has far more potential than Brook Lopez let alone NJ Nets draft pick. You think that's gonna be high with Dwight and Deron playing together? They will make the playoffs in the weak East.

Then you throw in Bynum who trumps any player the Nets have to offer. Behind Dwight he is the 2nd best C.

Bynum + DWill >>>>>>>> Brook Lopez + 11-15th pick in 2012 draft

Sorry Magic get alot in this deal. Bynum by himself is a better offer than Lopez and a pick. Add in DWill its a no brainer

Bynum is only signed for 1 year. If he doesn't sign a extension they may have to trade him next year.

Dwill is the number 2 pick in a bad draft. Lately the number 2 pick is a landing spot for bust. It is funny how young players that were taking high that don't show much people hide behind there draft pick. If I said throw Rubio in the deal they scream hell no. Put Pekovic in the deal they say No.So they say they give us DWill because he is the young guy that isn't showing much. He scoring 7 points on 6 shots. He low in percentages. His PER is 13. Nobody knows what position he plays. It wouldn't shock anyone if he was a complete bust.

Simply put the Magic do this deal they could have nothing to show for it in 1 year. The would have Lopez rights for years. They would have a high draft pick in a much stronger draft. Which could easily be a Drummond or Adavis. The Nets could still offer Brooks or Humphries. That deal is better than a 1 year deal Bynum and Derrick Williams.

Give me Marshon Brooks over Derrick williams and 1st round picks over andrew bynum any day...by all means I do not want Derrick Williams and Bynum. We have no one to create, we already have a PF that is getting better in Anderson. Derrick Williams will play what SF?? Bench?? Starter?? Bynum and his knees isn't helping this team reach no where. I rather go for Marshon Brooks+Lopez+Humphries +first rounders over Derrick and Andrew any day.

As a Laker fan, I've learned not to buy into deals and signings anything until they become official. And thanks to Stern, I now wait a full 48 hours afterwards just to make sure.

this is a terrible trade for LA. beasely and barea are really not that good. if we give up gasol and bynum we better get dwight and at least a top 15 pg in the league.
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Dwight needs to tell the Magic I'm going to team X whether you trade me or not or tell them he's staying if you get me either player X, Y, Z by the trade deadline. Stop this charade. It's embarrassing.

Also, what's the date he needs to be on a team he'll sign a long-term deal with to get the max? It's March 1st, right?

I can't imagine the Magic moving Dwight & not including Hedo.

Not saying this will happen but some LA fans are all like "we're giving a lot for Howard".

1st what did you expect? Just Bynum for Howard? Bynum is not a franchise player and Howard is. What's good for Orlando with that? Absolutely nothing. They'd rather let him go in free agency than taking just Bynum or Gasol.

2nd Kobe will not last forever. If LA doesn't make a move, what happens in next years? Kobe and Gasol are old, they end their careers and LA sticks with only Bynum. Yes LA can still win a tittle (I doubt it but it's still a possibility) and they should try to do it, but getting Howard guarantees LA still a top team and a contender for the next 10 years. Without him LA lasts as a contender 2 or 3 years.

Of course this is a great trade for LA if happening. And if there's a chance of taking Howard, LA will do it. Gasol + Bynum are not much for Howard. Just the right price.

If this trade happened would the Lakers be able to sign Deron this offseason?

Do Beasley and Barea's deals expire after this season?

I still don't know what Minny's fascination with Gasol is.

They need help at 2 and 3 desperately, their big man combo is good enough for now.

Even from a Spanish connection point it still won't work, cuz Gasol will be near retirement when Rubio is up for resign....

Umm. Pau is only 31, he isn't 36 years old etc. Can we stop this myth that Pau is old and declining. The dude has played a linear career and uses no athleticism in his game. Pau-Rubio combo is chemistry perfection. It isn't always about having the best or youngest players to win championships. If the Wolves can't see this then they will stay in mediocrity. I could care less as I do NOT like this trade for the Lakers either. Again Lakers use TPE for a PG!!!! And stop starting Derrick **** Fisher.
