This, imo, has always been Orlando's best option. Dwight has left the door open for a return with that return based on the premise that Orlando improves. The Otis designed and planned team has been struggling and needs a revamp, Dwight is within his rights to use pressure to ensure it happens. Otis stirred the pot by putting Dwight's trade request out there in the public, and hasn't been a very positive voice for making things work. I'm sick of Otis tbf.

I still feel like we have a shot at getting someone like Ellis... hopeless dreaming, I know... but it's just a gut feeling I have

Don't wanna spoil the fun for Wolves & Lakers fans, but didn't DeVos say he'd veto any trade to the Lakers?

No he didn't. He actually said the opposite, but I know what you're referring to though.

Just read that full article again, I see what you mean now, sorry ..

Just hope we get enough picks in a Dwight deal, great draft this year. Would be a shame not to get some of these great young guys in the draft

I'm looking at it this way - if we trade Dwight, New Jersey (assuming they receive him) instantly get better. Right now they have the 4th best shot at the top pick, but they are right behind Toronto, Sacramento and Detroit, and would almost certainly pass them, giving them the 7th best shot. GSW, Cleveland and Milwaukee only have three more wins than NJ, and Phoenix only 4 more. They probably pass them, too, putting them 11th. They are 6.5 games back from Boston for the final playoff spot in the East. It's not completely beyond the realms of fantasy, if Dwight/Deron clicked instantly, that they catch them over the final couple of months of the season. Then you're looking at a non-lottery pick.

The odds of a really good pick coming from New Jersey if we trade Dwight to them are slim. The fourth worst record has only an 11.9% shot at the top pick. If they improved only as far as the 8th worst record and still missed the playoffs, the odds drop to 2.8%.

So, if Dwight still lists re-signing as a legitimate possibility, would we rather roll the dice on a 25% chance of the best center in the entire game staying in Orlando, or a 2.8% chance of getting the top pick in a draft, knowing that even then that player is not a sure thing?

Martins just said today that he's asking Dwight for his word he'll resign or he'll trade him before the 15th.

I really don't think there can be anything else for Dwight to think about as Mar 15th nears. By that time our roster for the rest of the season will be complete. I don't find it unreasonable to ask Dwight to commit before the 15th and I don't think Dwight would not tell us. I just don't see him on Mar 14th being like, "Well, I like it in Orlando but...". At some point he has to decide and tell us. He has to man up to his decisions sooner or later.

wow that minny/LA deal doesnt seem half bad but we really need to find a way to squeeze either hedo or duhon out, would be first priority and throw in a pick if we can but probably not.

what about if we tossed in like wafer/orton plus duhon where minny gets wafer and maybe LA rookie rather than jj

so we'd be

jameer/ridnour/ish
jrich/jj/liggs
hedo/williams/qrich clark
anderson/bbd/harper
bynum/bbd/orton

that doesn't seem too bad if you can keep the core of bynum williams anderson and build around that.

the only thing is if we pick up bynum, having a backup center becomes a much bigger deal, but hey at least bynum will be closer to his knee doctor that does his injections...

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7csmyj9

i like this but we would probably have to give up a 2 guard to minny and jj would probalby be the one unless we could talk them into wafer. but maybe if we give up jj we can get a pick back

i also kinda like the idea of trading dwight to one of "his" destinations after he's changed his mind because he doesnt want to play second fiddle to kobe

Score 52 against Notre Dame, not some scrub team. In fact, he played for the worst team in the Big East. Still can't believe teams liked Jimmer over him

You would've drafted Brooks over Fredette? HA!

I would have drafted 90% of the players in the first round over that over rated piece of all hype garbage

First off, I'm sure he already knows.

Second, you're crazy if you think they won't pay him just because he's in Orlando. He could easily leave and get a high paying deal elsewhere.

I could easily see a team like minny giving way too much for Pau, I'm not sure why they would do that trade, but it definitely wouldnt shock me
