Yeah, the people losing their minds for Minny are misguided. Pek will still get his minutes, and the 3 PG experiment doesn't work. Hell, with the way Love loves to shoot 3s, there's no reason not to try him at SF for a while, and go big.

Still, they need a 2 guard pretty bad.

If this RUMOR were true...IMO Beasley would be a SF/PF off the bench ala Odom...

At stretches we would have Barea, Goudelock/Arenas, Kobe, Beasley/McBob, D12... Thats a huge jump from the old squad as far as speed, and athleticism. Small on Defense, but w/ Howard in the middle cleaning up. Not worried at all. GEt it done mitch!!!! Get sumthing dun!

And wolves don't need frontcourt help, they need a wing.

I wouldn't do it if I were them.

MINNESOTA: Where MEDIOCRITY happens. Best move for Wolves is to do nothing and continue sucking as they are because Barea, Favors, and Williams are SCRUBS! LOL. Gotta love deranged Wolves fans.

What are Lakers giving up? Bynum and Pau = Superstars.
What is Orlando giving up? Dwight = Megastar.
What are Wolves giving up? Scrubs.

1st what did you expect? Just Bynum for Howard? Bynum is not a franchise player and Howard is. What's good for Orlando with that? Absolutely nothing. They'd rather let him go in free agency than taking just Bynum or Gasol.

2nd Kobe will not last forever. If LA doesn't make a move, what happens in next years? Kobe and Gasol are old, they end their careers and LA sticks with only Bynum. Yes LA can still win a tittle (I doubt it but it's still a possibility) and they should try to do it, but getting Howard guarantees LA still a top team and a contender for the next 10 years. Without him LA lasts as a contender 2 or 3 years.

Of course this is a great trade for LA if happening. And if there's a chance of taking Howard, LA will do it. Gasol + Bynum are not much for Howard. Just the right price.

I'll bite.

First, WE DON'T NEED HOWARD! So the best that we will offer is Bynum plus fillers for Howard and some bad contracts. Now if you gon' say that it'll be better for the Magic to let Howard walk than get Bynum and some picks then I don't know what to say, man. If they don't want that deal, they can deal Howard to the Nets. Which they will get Lopez, Brooks plus picks. And in IMHO, the Bynum deal is better.

Second, yes. Kobe won't last forever. And if we give up a lot (Pau/Bynum) for Dwight, do you think he will stay this summer? He can easily sign with the Nets or the Mavs. So that will leave us with Kobe with a bunch of role players and scrubs.

You don't need Howard... so you expect this Lakers to be champions? Give me a straight ansewr. Without any trade, where do you see this Lakers in 4 years? And with Dwight, where do u see them?

About Dwight leaving in the summer it just goes like this: if this trade is made, no way the Lakers will have no guarantee that he'll resign. LA's office has proved more than once they're not stupid.

About Magic getting Bynum... well he's a good center. I'm not saying he'll be bad for the Magic, but do u think Bynum is the kind of player u can build arround a franchise? Isn't the deal with the Nets probably better getting some cap space for Orlando and picks? From a rebuild point of view I think it is...

But well if u don't want Howard is ok. I don't like LA so if you lose for me is OK.

I'm not sure the Lakers are a much better team after this trade, but I don't think Howard would leave in any case. Too much money on the table for him to bolt.

Sounds like a trade that works for all teams involved (of course Orlando loses, but at least this gives them hope).

Pau played a lot more center than PF in his career.

wolves get pau gasol

lakers get beasley, barea, dwight howard

magic get derrick wiliams and andrew bynum

Why would Orlando agree to this when they can get both Bynum and Gasol? Derrick Williams hasn't exactly taken the league by storm, and Gasol seems to be a very in demand trade commodity.

Such a bad move by Wolves if this happens. Gasol doesn't fit into there long term plans and it makes no sense to give up on Williams this early, especially for a 31 year old.
Only way this makes any sense is if Wolves are working on trading Gasol to another team..

With Gasol, the Wolves instantly become and top team in the West. They still need a wing, but Rubio/Love/Gasol in a pretty tough combo.

The Wolves been on their long term plan since they came into the league. Make a move to start winning now.

As a Laker fan, I can give a **** and hope they pass on the deal if this is true, it is just silly hearing the silly timid excuses why the Wolves don't do this deal.

We don't need Howard and we don't want Howard is completely different.

I didn't say we will win a championship with our current roster. But what we NEED is a decent Point Guard and a Small Forward.

And by the way, did the article say that this trade is for an extended Howard?
