About the article I don't know if it mentions Howard in long term. But don't u agree with me that, if this happens, LA office will make sure it is for long term? Cause LA's office has proved many times that they can make great deals for LA.

That's the reason why I don't like this deal. Dwight won't sign an extension with that kind of roster. If this is for an extended D12, I'm all for it. Barea and Beasley are cool. But don't you think we can get a PG and SF of their caliber without giving up Pau and Bynum?

Same here. He's playing his best basketball in his career, and he's 21 and a rookie.

He's FG are bad because he's playing way too much for a rookie, his FG are up more than 5% when he's not in a back to back, he was playing 20 min per game last year, and this year he's playing 35 per game.

For the Wolves this trade is meh, I don't know if I like it or not. But, with the trade the Wolves have the best frontcourt in the NBA, that's for sure, and they can stop playing Love 40 min per game, which is the reason of the % FG for Love, after the stomp on Scola, Love was shooting 70% during 3 games, heavy minutes again and he's at the 45% again.

If they can flip Pau for Scola and Martin to the Rockets.....

A fairly fair trade for everyone involved. Which means it's not happening. Too good to be true.

I think the wolves are making a mistake if they trade for Pau. They need SF and SG, as they have two good bigs already.

Rubio, Love, Pau = deadly big 3

The Magic would get good young talent in return, not only the best center, also a promising player in Williams

I don't understand why some fellow Laker fans here would not like this trade, It's not just Pau+Drew for Dwight, Beasley & Barrea in return would be amazing as well, Beasley is a young talent that I believe can be directed to become even better with a winning attitude team such as the Lakers, we would also get much needed PG help by the guy who pretty much killed us with his penetration in the playoffs, also would be receiving the best center in the NBA, don't forget #24 is still on the team. Of course I would only like this going down if we do end up getting Wallace as well.

Barrea
Kobe
Beasley
Wallace
Dwight

We become instant contenders once again + get younger

Why did you say best center twice.

Nothing wrong with having 3 great bigs, Lakers won twice with Gasol, Bynum, Odom.

I think Gasol, Love, Pekovic would be an even better frontcourt rotation.

Ridnour can cover some SG minutes fine, would Minny still have enough assets to trade for a quality SF tho? Is hard to imagine a contender with Wes Johnson starting

No way for Orlando. They aren't dumping any bad contracts, Bynum is fragile, and Williams unproven.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Silly trade...
Makes no sense for Minny and LA.

Minny needs wings, not another big.
LA would have a gaping hole at PF as Sheed, Murph, or McBob would start. Beasley would find all of the good dope spots in southern Cali...

Pretty fair on all accounts with most likely two firsts needing to go to Orlando somehow.....

Getting a PG and a SF without giving away Bynum or Gasol might be possible, by signing a guy like Arenas for example. But the point of the trade is to keep with a franchise player for the years to come. It's not short-term thinking, but long-term thinking.

I still think Barea and Beasley are better PG and SF than what u can get in the free agency. But that's just my opinion, of course. If u're thinking about another kind of trade, I don't think LA as value enough in other players (Artest or Fisher) to bring better guys than Barea and Beasley.

So Gasol isn't worth Beasley/Willliams/Barea but he's worth Boozer/Korver?

Oh ok.

Derrick Williams and Bynum are the best they can get for Dwight? How can you people believe this stuff?

draft picks will be included, and Dwight Howard is leaving anyways in the offseason, unless the Orlando Magic win the title.

Getting an allstar bigmen like Andrew Bynum is an asset, and lol at you acting like Derrick Williams is a scrub.

Yes, they do. They give the Lakers two things they don't have, and haven't in awhile.
1. A quick, young point guard who can get to the rim.
2. A SF who can score.
