Official:Hawks Midseason Opinions and Reactions Thread:20-14
So, we are 20-14 after 34 games let's express opinions and give reactions on what we have seen so far and what we would like to see for the next 32 games in the regular season and possibly the playoffs.

Re: Official:Hawks Midseason Opinions and Reactions Thread:2
I can see us going 17-15 the rest of the season. I can see April being fool's gold month for us as the schedule will be more friendly. On the flip side, I think we are going 2-7 out of the all-star break. This all sets up pretty interesting. Will we make a move if we go 2-7 and are sitting at 22-21 before the trade deadline which is March 15? Or will they look at the schedule and say we could very well end up 37-29 and safely in the playoffs without Al for most of the season? That's like a 45 win team without Al for most of the season during a regular 82 game season. If you take away the fact that we have not got passed the 2nd round in 3 tries it may be hard to blow that up or trade Josh, Al, or Joe.
My prediction is we will suffer through the rest of this season with no moves. We will end up with the 5th or 6th seed and they will try to sell the fans on us recreating that buzz we had against the Celts when we were underdogs.
My suggestion: Go out and find a better SF than Marvin or a better C than Zaza or a better PG than Teague. We need another piece or 2.
Disappointments: Joe and his play and demeanor and lack of positive effect on teammates mentality. Josh's continuous love affair for bad plays. Teague's assist rates dwindling from where he was. Marvin and his play falling off from a couple good games to start the season. Kirk and his negative overall impact. LD and his mismanagement of the team on the floor. The front office and there mismanagement of things from up top.
What I am happy with: The record. Surprised we aren't at .500 or below already.
Conclusion: I am a Hawks fan.

Fast forward to 2:22 and tell me WTF anyone is doing. Zaza needs to be cutting to the rim, Teague gave up his dribble too soon, Josh gave up the ball to Teague in short clock, then just stood around, Willie is just standing, Rad is not making himself available for the ball. WTF is this?

We can come to the conclusion that anything short of facing the Magic that this team will have trouble getting out of the first round. We'll literally have to mirror them all season similar to what we did last year in order to ensure a favorable first round matchup otherwise it's going to be ugly.
Going by your projections, Supe, if this was a normal season we'd end with about 45 wins and only a chance against the Magi?c....Well, that reminds me a bit too much of Washington Wizards territory given our cap constraints and low ceiling.
I don't see us building on last year's playoffs performance because I don't look at Al as the savior coming back fully healthy and I most certainly don't trust LD to manage his return properly after watching his handling of Hinrich.

Yes, I don't see Al as the savior either. That's why we need another big time addition. Just don't see it happening.

Good analysis. I'm agree that no moves will happen although I'm still hopeful that Hinrich gets moved. He's not played well enough to really get anything great back but he is expiring which would have some value if we take some salary back for a change.

It's just frustrating to see us getting outrebounded by a lot every game and still not make a move. Hinrich should be moved. He helped us win that series against the Magic but that was pretty much it. Another move this team desperately needs is the coach. He plays Pargo 20 min one game, then forgets about him for like 4 games... same thing with Radmanovic and Green. Zaza sucks. We need to get rid of him.
GO HAWKS.

Zaza just helped us beat the Magic and hold Dwight to 12 and 10. Commonly respected as one of the toughest players in the league.
On a basement bargain contract.
"We need to get rid of him." Because the returning player will be so much better?

When did I say move Teague? I said go get a PG that is currently better. Teague is our best contract other than minimum level guys. It is pretty obvious that we should be looking to move some of our bigger contracts first. Joe, Josh, Kirk and Marvin are the 4 guys I would like to see moved. Zaza could be a throw in to make something work also, but I am not really interested in moving him because his contract is relatively good and real short.
