If Minny wants a SG so bad than they should offer the same deal for Monta Ellis. U think Golden State will do it? Doubtful

draft picks will be included, and Dwight Howard is leaving anyways in the offseason, unless the Orlando Magic win the title.

Getting an allstar bigmen like Andrew Bynum is an asset, and lol at you acting like Derrick Williams is a scrub.

picks from who, lol? Minny picks aren't that good anymore as they will probably finish .500 or a little over...LA picks are late ones as well...real appealing...

yeah 7 and 4 on 43%, this dude is on everybody's radar. Taj Gibson average 9 and 7.5 on 49% his rookie year

Yes, they do. They give the Lakers two things they don't have, and haven't in awhile.
1. A quick, young point guard who can get to the rim.
2. A SF who can score.

agreed.

Having a PG like JJ is definitely an upgrade over Derek Fisher any day of the week (except postseason play)

I hope its true. If not I'm going to cry and I'm not a Lakers fan. I just feel like Kobe needs more help.

Barrea is a decent pg. la can acquire a player in his mold in sessions with the Tpe and pick. Only reason this hasn't been done yet is because Mitch is holding on to the picks until the Howard situation is completely settled. Another thing is la cannot trade this years draft pick because they already traded last years pick. What la can do is trade draft considerations to Orlando and on draft night choose the player Orlando wants.

Now Beasley Isnt a sf. Sure he can be listed as one. But who's going to guard Lebron James in the finals?

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been involved in more than their fair share of NBA trade rumors as the trade deadline creeps closer. David Kahn has apparently been shopping for quite awhile, however, as the team apparently was looking at acquiring Monta Ellis from the Golden State Warriors last June.

Ellis would have reportedly been dealt to the Timberwolves in exchange for Michael Beasley, Nikola Pekovic and the draft pick that became Derrick Williams, according to Warriors beat writer Tim Kawakami. Golden State was unwilling to sweeten their offer any further, however, and the deal never went any further.

The most interesting part of that deal is twofold, it seems, for very different reasons.

Minnesota has obviously been aware of their need for a shooting guard for quite awhile. Ellis probably wouldn't have worked out the best next to Ricky Rubio, so its basically a moot point, but it's clear Beasley has been on the trading block for a starting-caliber two-guard for at least the past eight month

Exactly. The Lakers get the best piece out of the deal AND fix holes on the team. Meanwhile the Wolves get a nice player while not only failing to address their needs but by making them worse by dealing a wing in Beasley and a guard in Barea.

in this deep draft, any pick from 20-25 is good.

okay so Orlando should trade Dwight for Bynum and a player who we think might be pretty good, yeah okay let's do it. He hasn't proven anything, just cause he went #2 doesn't mean he is going to be good. If this is the best they can get then might as well do it, but it won't be.

that is why Ron Artest and Matt Barnes are still on the team. Plus when Beasley is playing under a defensive coach like Mike Brown he will defend. (he was solid defensively under Coach Spo in his last season in Miami posting a 103 defensive rating while the team's average was 104)

but real talks who in the NBA can guard Lebron James?

So Gasol isn't worth Beasley/Willliams/Barea but he's worth Boozer/Korver?

Oh ok.

Who said just Boozer and Korver? Not me...

Also, this isn't about "worth".
The Wolves need wings, not Gasol.

How does this help Minny?

lol so do you want Orlando to gamble and let him walk in the offseason? I don't think Otis Smith is that stupid.

Andrew Bynum a 20/10 bigmen in this league
Derrick Williams has potential, he clearly displayed it when he was starting in Kevin Love place this season.

Marshon Brooks, Brooks Lopez, NJ lottery pick (top 5 very likely), houston mid first round pick, Humpy Kardassian >>>>> Bynum/Williams + horrible LA picks. Marshon Brooks is better than Derick Williams by far, Brooks Lopez and LOTTERY pick in a loaded draft is better than Bynum by far, Houston's pick is better than LA's or Minnys pick, and Humpy Kardassian and Memet Okur are just bonus expirings. Nj's deal is faaaar better than this for Orlando.

I'm sorry. Put Watson in the equation as well and the answer is still the same.

Is it hard to believe that they could later flip Pau for someone like Monta? A report surfaced earlier that the Wolves were interested in doing a deal around Derrick Williams for Pau, is that hard to believe that a Beasley/Williams/Barea deal is something that actually ends up happening?

I'm doubtful it happens and pretty skeptical of the source but if it did happen it wouldn't be total blasphemy.

As a starter (his last 14 games), Pek is putting up 15.6 ppg and 9.9 rpg on 56.4% shooting (79.3% from the line).

Yes, Gasol is indeed a better player than Pek, but Minny would be much better served using some of those assets for a younger SG.

Marshon is a glorified chucker and I guarantee that Bynum will be worth much more when it's all set and done.
