Cho talks about patience amidst losing season

I for one am glad that this organization is for once looking at the big picture. Sure we could spend money on some middle tier players and fight for the 8th seed, but if you really want to compete with the best you have to rebuild from the bottom up. The bobcats have two pieces in Biyambo and Walker. hopefully the ping pong balls fall the bobcats way and they get Davis. After that you will probably have at least one more top 5 pick. if you hit on that one too then you can really begin to see a path to the top 4 in the Eastern Conference.

It's frustrating that in our eighth season we're 4-28, but at least everyone is on the same page now. Let's just hope Higgins leaves the decision-making to Cho. Higgins can try to teach his son how to play basketball, or find him a new job.
Humble yourself.

Nice post, and nice article, but so tired of hearing about Davis. Why do we need a Tyrus Thomas clone and where would the offense come from with him and Biyombo on the floor at the same time? We already struggle to score as is. We need a bonafide scorer. If we get the first pick I say we shop it and hope Barnes or Kidd-Gilchrist fall to us while we pick up an additional pick.

Screw that, let's throw a max contract at Wilson Chandler.

I hope he doesn't think I am willing to wait 3 seasons for them to get it together...

If he can get us an extra lottery pick this year and Portland's is lotto or fringe next year it may not take that long.

Let me just say that Cho messed up by not signing Sheed.
Kemba - Reggie - Mags - Sheed - Mullens would have made one hell of a lineup.

We have waited 8 years without direction or results. I'm happy to wait 3 for them to get it right and the good times that will bring.

The next two seasons will be bloody (again). I hope by 2015, we have a good/great team to compete against the elite teams in the NBA.

No to Barnes:
DraftExpress: RT @FreeportKid: Harrison Barnes points per possession on: catch-and-shoot/no dribbles: 1.39 PPP, 1 dribble: 0.86 PPP, 2+ dribbles: 0.64 PPP
You don't take a wing who can't create his own shot with a top5 pick.

Re: Cho talks about patience amidst losing season
Hi guys. Before the season began I posted in your forum about Rich Cho since I'm a longtime Sonics fan. At that time just about all of you were on board and agreed with everything Cho said about how to rebuild and put together a contender, not just a decent team.
I'm happy to see at this stage of a struggling season pretty much all of you are still of the same mind and are willing to suffer a bit while staying the course with Cho's philosophy.
Good work.

Re: Cho talks about patience amidst losing season
I sort of agree you. I definitely feel way more confident about our future with Cho here and I like seeing this, but I hope we improve next season.
We obviously need some high draft picks and we need to continue to make smart decisions with regards to our salary situation but it's just so unencouraging when we're constantly getting blown out by 30+ and you can actually call it 'game over' within the first 10 minutes.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we can still be a bottom five team (and not the absolute worst by a good margin) and still get a top draft pick. I don't know how much our pick this season is going to elevate our level of play in the short-term, but I wouldn't mind seeing us make some small moves, as long as they're done resourcefully.

We are finally halfway through the shortened season and it seems like opening night was 3 years ago!

Well we did take some unexpected blows. Maggette and DJ and Hendo have all missed very significant time. That's our three best starters. Take the three best players on any other team and look at the losses they'll rack up. Also, last year's Tyrus would have won us a few more games, we didn't know he'd be so sick.
